Now, it is official, the game is "on" and AD Hilton has asserted that the game will count in the NCAA record. I am still feel that both the game and the assertion are dubious. The tried and true statement "you reap what you sow", will again be in evident in two years when VUL is facing bankruptcy and the end of their foolish attempt to become known through collegiate sports. I am not going out on a limb on this one. We have seen it happen several times in Atlanta, GA with its HBCUs and recently in VA with St Paul. These colleges were a lot more established than VUL. A&T won't escape this morality truth either. This game will led to further embarrassment of A&T's athletics and a greater apathy from the casual fan to not even bother to attend a football game on A&T's campus. Secondly, I fear that in two years, A&T will be facing its own financial difficulties because bad decision making will continue to be rule, steep into culture of Aggie athletics, as we see being executed now. I dunno about all that other stuff you said but I agree that this game may never happen. Hopefully we aren't giving them anything upfront.

Decks, A&T with Hilton leading the way, will do anything to ensure this game goes off, including spending more money so that VUL will get the things they need to field a football team for this Labor Day Weekend game.
A&T has even come up with a false profile for VUL in their public release. A VUL profile that doesn't even exist right now. A profile that VUL hopes to have in the future, if their athletic department last that long.

I halfway expect something like this to happen: sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4429336But like Jazz typed, we will probably go out of our way to make sure VUL has whatever they need to show up (and not much more) on game day. I'm starting to buy some of the bad press Broadway's been getting from Grambling fans. Not all, but some.

Why what?
And we should be playing Winston or a conference game, period.

You say you are buying into some of the bad press from the Grambling folks. I just wondered why?? IMO, they should be thanking the man...but you know "US (our folk)" will find something to complain about. So, I ask you why?

Just sit back and watch. I'm just noticing they haven't been so off base on a number of the comments I've read concerning scheduling, tact, demeanor, etc...
They can win with pretty much anybody so they can be much more particular than we can. We'll probably go to greater lengths to ignore things due to our situation. But I sincerely doubt we'd be playing this game (or St. Paul's) but for one person.

And if that happened, we would be complaining about that too.

playing wssu wouldn't make sense because they want us to play them in winston which would give us a total of 7 road games with only 4 home games. considering we have a brand new pressbox to pay for and new high salaried coaches, we can't afford to play only 4 home games...

Welp, does the game count or not? What does Hilton say?

And we should be playing Winston or a conference game, period. Just say no to 9+ Conference Games. 7-8 Conf. games is perfect. But I digress... We would be complaining about any game if it wasn't WSSU. Dare I say some of us would rather see our team play WSSU even if it means losing money.

Who is this magical "we" you keep referring to?
In any event, we supposedly have several conference games in a row away from home. Work through the conference and get one of them changed to a home game for us for Labor Day weekend, then schedule a breather game in place of that game in the middle of the season.
...or schedule a team that folds and follow up by scheduling a team that doesn't exist yet and isn't certain to exist by the game date, and cross your fingers and hope they can get it together by then.

So we should break our bank paying WSSU to come to G'boro?
