We gonna play a church school with a team of walk-ons. When we go 1-10 (again), it will be because we called His wrath down upon us. My God is an angry God. Lol, you have officially lost your mind!

Laugh now Decks, laugh now. If you think Lot's wife got it bad, wait until Labor Day weekend. Anybody looking back at Aggie Stadium will be turned into a pillar of that seasoning that Dee tried to get the Aggie Club to sell as a fundraiser a few years back. Ye hast been warned...

i'll definitely be at the vul game. given our circumstances and the timing of the st. paul's withdrawal, i understand why this game was scheduled. i don't think we had a lot of options. i'm sure broadway wanted the closest thing to a guaranteed victory as possible and i'm witcha coach! let 'em laugh, it doesn't bother me.
i guess because i was one of the few who strongly supported and followed our team all the way thru that 27 game losing streak, i have an appreciation for how much "pain" that costs. both physical and emotional pain. and as long as we have a zero in the wins column, that's exactly what folk will forever link aggie football to. its a rut, man. and its hard to climb out of. so i'm all for sealing that rut right out of the gate and it doesn't bother me that folk may laugh.
i see a much bigger picture than playing a scrumb team from lynchburg. so i say, let 'em laugh. give me the "w" and let 'em laugh...

I am more concerned about our increase of Scholarships we can give players now. I am also more concerned about the new players Broadway will have in camp on the DL, & at QB, IF he has any coming in.

Yep, but we can spread those schollys out over more players now. That number jumped from about 48 to 54.

That number jumped from about 48 to 54. hey westcoast, you're good at this apr stuff. here's my question. let's say at the end of school year 2011-12, our football team grades out at say a 925 apr. what will our 4 year rolling average then be and how many additional schollies will we pick up, if any?

I don't know how many more scholarships we would pick up and we would still be below 900 for our multiyear APR.
It all depends on the stipulations of our Waiver. For us to avoid any harsher penalties, the Athletic Department will simply have to follow whatever stipulations the NCAA will have for us about that. It seems that the 2009 - 2010 season saw the football program meet all of the stipulations laid out.
Hopefully, Coach Lee continued to meet those stipulations for the 2010 - 2011 season.

dang! my bad, westcoast. i know we're off topic, but i was mistakenly thinking our latest score was for school year 2010-11, but it wasn't. it was for school year 2009-10 instead, an apr of 927 which gave us a 4 year average of 872. so i should have asked what our 4 year rolling average would be if our 2010-11 score is around 925? i'm thinking since our 2 most recent scores would average 926, when we throw in the two scores prior to that, we'd come close to at least a 900 average which would put us close to the minimum required.
so basically, if our 2010-11 score is above the minimum required (925), if we followed that with 2 more consecutive years above the minimum, we'd be free of any sanctions to our program. do you know what our scores were for school years 2008-09 and 2007-08?

Dont know about that one, but OK . We are not a first year program in a completely different division. Get off the pedestal if you think App State considers us anything more than what we consider VUL 1st year or 81st year. The competition we face against Virginia will be comparable to the competition we give to App St. We know were not on the App State level but their fans aren't crying cause they know its a easy win. Suck it up suit up. Hey maybe the game zone will sell out before the stadium. Id rather pay $20 to hang outside the game than pay $15 to watch it. No way App is looking at us the way we are looking at VUL. We aint a non-scholarship school. We do have the ability to compete against App. We may not win, but their bench cant play most of the game and they still beat us by 30 like we are about to do VUL. I think your putting them on to high of a pedestal and discrediting all the returning players we have. The most App will do is run the ball down our throats, but they wont be able to do ANY & Everything they want to. I doubt VUL will even come in with any 300 pounders at all. I doubt they will come in with ANY 4.4 CBs or WRs. They wont have ANY players with a SINGLE game of experience and if they do NONE will have Div1 experience. App wont be saying that about us. They will be staring down at some pretty potent offensive weapons and a defense that while suspect in the middle, has a bunch of returners that did OK last year.

Errrrrbody is entitled to their opinion but Guard-Dam-A-Lam we have sure stooped to an all time low. I remember a lot of scrub teams scheduled in the past but, wow, we should be past something like this. Who do you think will attend the game other die-hearts? I know some already are planning to do something else since the quality is not gonna be worth it. I definitely plan to do something else for the first time in 3 years, What's sad is I am not by myself. We better recognize!!!

2ru, the way i see it, if they don't care how many supporters we stand to lose because of the fan zone, why should they be concerned about how many we lose because we're playing vul? both decisions were made for a reason and i presume those reasons are more important than fewer folk showing up for the game. at least that's my assumption...
