Those engineering cats are a different breed. That's what they say.

There is more to the truth about Spencer Spane's transfering than what is being said. He was serious about his academics and a very good student . He was upset about a engineering class being offered only in fall semester, one day a week,6:00pm and he couldn't get permission to leave practice. He was very serious about graduating in 4 years.. he had to chose between football or 4 year graduation.

Why would he not get permission to leave practice one day a week for one class particularly a 6:00 pm class? That's toward the end of practice. That's stupid on the coach's part if true. I would be interested in the real story. I'm not sure how transferring back to a JUCO helps him if all he was having was a scheduling problem. There's much more to this story.

Pleae tell me this whole conversation is not about a guy who couldn't catch a cold and couldn't block my 5 year old. Jaffe did Fobbs offend you or someone in your family personally? You sure talk on here like he's one step away from satan himself. Me, I see a guy who had to deal with what was leftover to him last year and he couldn't produce anything from it. His fault, Small's fault hard to say but I am more interested in how he produces this season before I call for his head. Sweeny has been told by the NCAA that his eligibility has run out from what I heard. Speight was taking all 3-6 classes and was never at practices except for Fridays. Hard to justify giving a guy some carries when he misses everyday of pads. JMO

The guy is 18 or 19 years old. Maybe, just maybe, he is telling his coaches at A&t one thing and saying something totally different to other people.
I'm not calling the kid a liar ... I'm just saying he may be acting like a normal teenager.
Either way, his absence from the roster will not make a difference in our win or loss total this season. Its not like he was Jeremy Shockey.

It is my understanding that Spane was offered a "gray shirt" scholarship to Ole Miss. He will first have to go to a nearby JUCO for one year before transferring over. And BTW: 99 percent of the guys I hung around at 'T who were engineering majors as freshman, switched majors to something else at the end of the second semester because the work load was more than they were ready for. They might have started off in McNair but it wasn't long that were over on my side of campus, in Crosby or Merrit. Not true on Spane...

So what's the story?

Besides, anyone with half a brain that watched the spring game could see that Brett Fisher is a bonafide pass catching tightend who can go deep with great hands and concentration and was far and away the best I've seen at that position since Bryson graduated.

Stop it! Let's just say he looked good in the spring game.
Now, just who is he?

He played on special teams a year ago and Fobbs gave him a shot this spring at the starting job because Spane couldn't catch a cold or block me. He has great hands and nice speed. Not the biggest guy in the world at 6-3,230 but a lot stronger than you think and he's not afraid go into a crowd, and get the ball. He plays more like a oversized wideout.

Nah, I have to disagree with you on this one. Spane was a player.
