I was going to stay on the sidelines for this one, but the comment about Billingsley and Brantley deserving shots on the next level was more than I could stand. I am not slamming those kids, not everyone can make it on the next level, but by what means did jaffejoffa evaluate those two to determine that they were good enough to play on the next level. As for Marcus Lewis, he always had the physical tools, he did not have the mental tools. Maybe at age 25, he has developed that, I don't know. Sometimes you have to take what kids say with a grain of salt. Not that they lie, but sometimes they don't always tell the truth. (however that sounded??) There is nobody in the athletic department or on the coaching staff that would hold a kid back. And if you are a true player, its impossible to be held back....

Billingsley was constantly beat on plays last year especially that Morgan st. game he was straight trash. Brantley fought through injuries and he was over powered at times last year by lineman who will never see a down in the NFL. Billingsley has not been good since he was in that car accident his freshman with the old lady

Billingsley played Saftey, D. Klugh did not see a down in the NFL but he was a hell of a good saftey....... Billingsley is not in the same class as Klugh...... NEXT!!!!!!!

King Joffa, no disrespect sire but some of the best players in A&T history did not get a lick of attention from the NFL. Sire, if you are not absolutely dominating in one of the bottom conferences in scholarship football you won't get a sniff regardless of whether there's a pro day at your campus or not. They could have held pro day at Will Bill's momma house and that wouldn't have helped them.

Thank You, If the NFL wants you they will put you on....... The scouts already know what you can and can't do, If you can't fit in it's over... Get your degree and move on...... Example Sammie Rodgers LB, Temell the kid who player corner... Thoes two were on Klugh team too, Hell of players but the scouts did not think they could fit in..........

Guys..I never said that they deserved to be lottery picks..Just that they deserved to be able to run in an annual pro day on their campus..Which every d1/d1aa/d2 school holds each yr....Billingsley played corner this yr, not safety....and I think the guy that constantly got burnt was #8, with the dreads from VT....As a player, you just have to be in the right place, at the right time and in the right situation to get a look from the next level.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4-15-08 It's amazing how Black Folks always want to hate on somebody doing the right thing in the worst of ways. It also blows my mind how people who have know knowledge of football or cant judge talent sit back and demean folk . Judging from alot of comments made here in the past, it must be about -20 and snowing in hell right about now ..

Your eminence, not to question you but are you sure that every d1 and d2 school holds a pro day?

Being in the right place is the only thing I agree with you on.... This will be the last time I say anything about this subject..... but don't give any excuses nor deflect bad play towards another player, Both of them were getting burned bad on straight back drops and especially on the play action all year long........... I will not talk about this anymore because we will go back and forth all day and night long................

uhhh fyi.. before you take that what difference does it make angle.. from what I hear ... the majority of the team WILL be back for second session. SO it is important and it is vital to the success on the field. so it does make a difference You are right if that happens. The basis of my statement is that it unlikely that the majority will return based on what I heard and the history of the program. It's not so much a majority as it is “the core majority” Unless the majority you speak of falls into the three categories I identified, you are likely wrong and this set back has no impact. It’s equally unlikely that anyone that has a J-O-B for the summer will return until first practice. Again the issue is not S&C but continuity year round. So, what's the status of our off-season conditioning program, in terms of participants and structure? When does the second session begin?

Billingsley was beat because he had to play the run first and pass second. Knowbody up front could stop the run. This sets DBs up to get beat because they're making all the tackles. Billingsley is a good player. When you try and compare Billingsley and Klugh, you have to look at the teams they played on. Klugh was on a good team with defensive support up front. Billingsley was not.
Oh yeah, this board is opinion oriented, people should not take things so personal.

I know you didn't just compare Will Bill to the great Darryl Klugh.
C'mon man.

Billingsley came in 2002 did he not also you tell me how many teams in the nation had three different head coaches in a time span that a player was there. Most of you guys on the board do not look at all the facts that is hard on any player to learn different systems w/ no strength & conditioning programs times have change coaches can not do it all a real strength coach can make or break a team now. why do you thing hampton has been so good lately look when there S & C coach came in from Nebraska coach taylor has given him a lot of the credit to him in changing the program around and if i am not mistaken billingsley only had two years of real training 03 and 04 and if you guys really want to know i know for a FACT the billingsley had real trainging for the first time after the season and 4.3 at A&T's pro timing day ask the coaches and players they saw it.

Japan, you almost had me until that 4.3 comment. In what? The 35-yard dash?
But seriously, Will Bill was a decent player for us during his career at A&T, but he was no where on the level of the great Darryl Klugh.
BTW: I thought jaffejofa just stated for a fact on this same thread that A&T did not have a pro day this year.
