we need a hire a strength and condition for all sports not just for football. men's basketball a is making more than football and they have no say so who gets hired. when will we learn not to let football coaches decide who the strength and condition coach is goin to be. why should they pick the coach so they keep him to themselves and not work the other sports we have. that is so wrong . this guy is friend of the offensive line coach . he is from middle tenn. state.

Alexanders Daddy....True story...One of the coaches told a veteran player to quote "Not expect to start on homecoming, b/c there would be alot of alumni in town, and coach wants to show how many freshman and 1st year players that we are starting so that when he tells them that we have a young team and start loads of young talent, they will be more apt to give their money"....True story..I love Aggie football and hate to see it in the hands of a snake, and people who do not know what Aggie Pride is all about. These coaches are in it for personal gain and dont care about the future of the kids. Hell, I heard that Fobbs didnt even allow some of the veteran players to run at the pro timing day and discouraged some scouts from even taking a look at them. Its a shame that some of our players that have given so much to the program the last 4/5 years had to go to other universities to run, when we had our own event. And last year, he neglected to set up the annual pro day for Chamar Milton, Rickie Lewis, Montray Jackson etc, guys who had some decent credentials to at least warrant an opportunity to run and lift in front of scouts. ..Lavigne didnt leave to rebuild houses in NO ( Katrina was a year earlier, and he knew b4 he took the job that his house was destroyed) he quit b/c he saw Fobbs making a mockery of the program, and couldnt stand to be around the guy. Fobbs also has sole descresion of hiring of his strength coach, as he was the one who fired coach cromwell when he arrived in Greensboro. Completely not true....

I think we should just stop dogging Fobbs because of some strenght coach. Like Dooms said, when Hayes was coach there was never an issue of a S&C coach. Hell most people don't even know who the S&C coach was back then and we were a winning program. We did not even have a weight room worth mentioning back then and we still were winning. The players back then were self motivated to work hard, S&C coach or not. Our current players should be self motivated after going through the worst season in A&T history, S&C coach or not. If they are not self motivated by what happen last season then we can expect a duplicate of last season. If we duplicate last season Fobbs is fair game.

That's true Big Boy, but a lack of stability at key staff positions will only continue to hurt this program.

Perhaps we all should be a little more discreet with the second hand information.

I think most people on this board can easily identify when some clown is just talking out of his azz.

Bigboy, the reason I have been on Fobbs' case is because it seems to me that his program is disorganize. I knew from the beginning Fobbs would have to rebuild (and to some build) a football program. While I have taken a jab at his win-loss record, it had more to do with what I saw and heard what was going on from January through the second week of September 2006. The rest of the season became predictable.
I think Coach Fobbs has really worked hard to correct those mistakes. I feel because he is working to correct the mistakes from a year ago the team progress seems as if this is Fobbs first year. I also feel the athletic department wasted money by spending it without having a coherent plan on how to rebuild a 1AA HBCU football program.
Luckily, this year's home schedule is very favorable to attracting fans to all of the games except the last one. The Aggies get Norfolk State and Hampton early, NCCU is a un-official homecoming and then you have homecoming. If A&T is still winless in November expect about a thousand fans to show up for the Del State game.

Decent will not get you a shot to go to the NFL..... Think about it Deloach, Mitchell, Carpenter, Hicks, Pelshak were more than decent!!!!!! Future players from our program that want to go to the NFL will be compaired to those players I mention...... Chamar Milton, Rickie Lewis, Montray Jackson are not even close............

NFL scouts and personel get paid big bucks to at least "take a look at talent across the country"..Hence, scouts observing practices at d1aa/d2/d3 through out the year. These scouts live regionally and get paid to find the diamond in the rough, so i dont buy it that Milton, Lewis and others couldnt even warrant the time for the to watch. You cannot tell me that a 3time all meac performer at end cannot get a look. If thats the case, why would any kid want to come to an HBCU, thats just saying that whatever your accomplishments or accolodes are, you cant even get a chance to play on the next level. Hell, Doug Brown and Brandon Trusty made it to camps last year (Bills & Redskins), so the talent level was there. Hampton just had 8 guys sign w/ teams from this past seasons team, which is a testament to HBCU and MEAC football..
And Alexanders Dad....Lavigne basically told Fobbs to kiss his a$$, and all that rebuilding in NO stuff was just a cover up...Lavigne quit and was the most respected coach on the staff..asks any player on the current team... Im sure some of them read this board and could offer some insight......;-) Whether you choose to believe what I say is up too you, but what I speak are 100% fact, and alot of shadiness is going on in this program.

Seriously dude, the next time you post an outlandish statement without the slightest bit of PROOF to back it up you will receive a 1 week ban from this board.
I don't care if you disagree with me or have a dumb opinion, but when you come out of the blue and claim stuff to be factual that you can't back up, then that's when I draw the line.
Consider yourself warned.

Lewis is not even close to Pelshak, Carpenter played LB so, Milton and Jackson are not in the same leauge as he is either....... The bottom line is that these scouts are going to compair Milton, lewis and anybody else to the players that already have been signed from A&T, Also the scouts already know who can perform on the field......... All MEAC does not equal NFL Tryout!!!!!!!!

Lewis, Milton and Jackson were all invited to try out for the Bills. So evidently the scouts knew of them and they all got a shot. I don't know how it turned out for them but I have not seen their names on anyone's roster.
