Alright guys.. I know the other thread was getting pretty lengthy but I just want to know everybody's opinion on the playoffs that start this week.. My predictions for the State Champs are....... 1A State Champs- Wallace Rose-Hill, Teachey NC 1AA State Champs- Southwest Onslow, Jacksonville NC 2A State Champs- Tarboro High, Tarboro NC 2AA State Champs- Reidsville High, Reidsville NC 3A State Champs- West Rowan High, Mount Ulla NC 3AA State Champs- A.L. Brown High, Kannapolis NC 4A State Champs- Hillside High, Durham NC.... My Alma Mater ;D 4AA State Champs- Mallard Creek High, Charlotte NC I feel that the NCHSAA should go back to the format of having only 4 State champs. 1 from each class. It is ludicrous how we crown 8, yes 8 State Champs in football!! Just go back to the the old format and I will be the happiest guy around

I like your picks except for three:
1A State Champs- Wallace Rose-Hill, Teachey NC
1AA State Champs- Southwest Onslow, Jacksonville NC
2A State Champs- Tarboro High, Tarboro NC
2AA State Champs- Reidsville High, Reidsville NC South Iredell
3A State Champs- West Rowan High, Mount Ulla NC
3AA State Champs- A.L. Brown High, Kannapolis NC Charlotte Catholic
4A State Champs- Hillside High, Durham NC
4AA State Champs- Mallard Creek High, Charlotte NC Butler
- I think Reidsville has slipped this year. - Hillside can easily lose to New Bern or AC Reynolds (west champ) - Small 2A is loaded but if I had to pick, it would be Tarboro. - Nc needs to go with 3 classes, then split big and small for the champions (6 total).

Hey I agree with you on your post on several things. I believe Hillside could possibly see Dudley again in the 3rd round I believe and that would be a shootout. Its hard to beat a team twice in the same season I could also see another team Dethroning Reidsville this year and I could see NC going with 3 classes but I highly doubt thats going to happen

Congratulation to all teams that won their first round playoff game. Dudley and Hillside need to take care of next week so we can have part two in the 3rd round.

4-AA Midwest: No. 3 Page 33, No. 6 West Forsyth 10
Friday, November 12, 2010 (Updated 11:22 pm) By Keith Tolbert
GREENSBORO — While it might have been easy to look past the first round to a highly ranked opponent, Page coach Kevin Gillespie tried to keep his team focused all week as it prepared for sixth seed West Forsyth.
Mission accomplished.
A quick start on offense and another solid performance on defense helped No. 3 seed Page earn a 33-10 first-round victory in the 4-AA Midwest playoffs. They will next play at defending state champion Matthews Butler, a 56-7 winner over East Forsyth, in the second round next Friday night.
“I told them all week that I don’t want to hear about next week,” Gillespie said. “If we don’t take care of West Forsyth, there won’t be a next week. Now we can talk about Butler.”
The Pirates will try to stop Butler with a defense that has played nearly flawless the last two games. They shut out the Titans for more than three quarters and held their passing game in check except for one long screen play that set up West Forsyth’s only touchdown.
“We’re not the biggest, but we are quick to the ball,” Gillespie said. “We did a good job running to the quarterback and then our defensive backs made plays.”
One of those defensive backs was Ed Britt, a 5-foot-11 cornerback who was lined up against the Titans’ Ricky Brown, a 6-4 receiver. Britt knocked down five passes and nearly intercepted a couple of them.
“I should have had three interceptions,” Britt said. “But I did my job on (Brown). I give a lot of credit to my defensive line. We came in focused and decided we had to go hard or go home.”
Now Britt said the Pirates are ready to go to Charlotte.

Aight peeps! My alma mater is back from a 7-8 yr slump! The boys are maintaining and hope to bring home a 3-AA championship. Don't underestimate or slp on the boys because there is pure speed by not jus 1,2, or 3, but 4 running backs! Defense is not bad either! South Central...You are on the clock!!!
Northern Nash High School 9-3, 4-1! They are putting out the lights!

Don't take Dudley lightly. They are playing a lot better than when they faced Hillside last. They now have a few significant players back playing (on defence) again that were out when they first played Hillside. I am hoping they both win this week so they can meet each other again. 2 historically black high schools going at it. Brings back memories for me! Oh yeah, Go Tarboro!! Oh, and by the way, Reidsville lost last friday.

I'd love to see Dudley come to New Bern and see the downeast blackness that they're not aware of.
