Excellent point and you very right. Corporate sponsors want a return on their investments. We have to effectively demonstrate the spending power of our fanbase.
That is where the packed stadiums and season ticket holders come into play.
No sponsor wants to buy a scoreboard panel in a stadium that is only drawing 5,000 fans (who are probably not willing to buy that sponsor's product in the first place.)

Don't overlook the significance of the jesture. Think about it, if we increase our giving don't you think those corporate interest would be more likely to support our cause. beisde we have to reverse that attitude. We have to be expected to give back, each and everyone of us. Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I went to a PWC on scholarship. Right there on those papers that I had to sign accepting that scholarship was a statement that I have never forgotten It said..."You have a moral obligation to repay this scholarship." We have a moral obligation to support our university whether we recieved a scholarship or not. true, but how many of us are ex football players? They have a duty to give to the football program. Everyone else has a duty to the university only.

We are all Aggies. We all need to give back to the University. The people complaining about athletics on this board may not be ex football players but thye are unhappy fans of the athletic department. If that is true, they have an obligation to be a part of the solution by helping to correct some of the problems that they complain about by funding the programs.

I hate to sound like a frustrated fan, but the truth is, I am. The frustration part comes in watching this team lose the same way almost every week. We have blamed fumbles, quarterback, offensive line, and play calling as the key to our woes. The most consistent aspect of this football team is the inability to make basis tackles. Yeah, I know we are undersized up front, and the guys are young, but when you get to this level, you would think that defensive players know how to tackle. Seems to me that they recruited guys that could run, and jump and collide better than other guys, but they don't have football instincts. Same goes for recruiting the fastest guy on offense, with no football instincts, and no footwork. And the most frustrating thing about it, is that the coaches are powerless to do anything about it at this point. There is just no time available to work on tackling skills. They are too busy game planning. You can put a guy in position to make a play. It is on the player to make that play. So as good a defensive strategist as Lee is, (and I still believe that he is), his recruiting skills suck. He certainly has not recruited anyone who has been ready to step in and contribute immediately (save #98 who actually did a decent job on Thursday, but he was recruited as an offensive tackle). We were told that the defensive line was where the emphasis was put during the last recruiting season. If that is the truth, then we have nothing to look forward to but more of the same for the next few years

I love seeing the newbies try to get their points arcoss to the oldheads on this board. Takes me back to the times when I first came aboard and tried to preach those same points of view, this program had been in trouble for a very long time, and that meant way before fobbs. But nobody wanted to take their heads out of the sand and listen to a newcomers fresh point of view. I was saying alot of these same things 4 years ago.

Wait a minute! I'm a father of one of the players as well, my son was asked to come to A&T to "REBUILD" a legacy, not continue one. By saying that, he was told it wasn't going to be eazy. So, he acceptted it, and whatever came with it. I was at the game before and after the back out lastnight. Its easy to hit, kick, or slam someone while their down. The coaching staff nor the players are playing, on a even playing field as the rest of the MEAC teams. Yes! A&T, Alums, Students, Parents, Coaches, and Players deserves better. But we can only play with the hand that we are dealt. Besides, I dont see no team in the MEAC beating BCU this year. That was a great veteran football team, I did say veteran. The same BCU team has been getting murdered since they was freshman. Last year they didn't win a game until they came to Greensboro, and even got thump by Shaw Univ. Well, were looking though the same site glasses a the BCU fans did for the last few years. We finally got two great back to back recruiting classes, who are freshman, redshirt freshman, and sophomores. Lets allow these youngmen to grow, coaches to coach them up. Then once again it will be our time to shine. Its a cycle that every program goes through. But all this stuff/crap about the defensesive coaching & players, got to stop. We dont have one vet on the Dline. Better yet! We being playing all D-ends across the front, the OLine is reaching our LBs before their reads can be made, which makes it impossible to stop the run. With a few additions of big run stopper, our DLine will be fine. Our LBs will be able to use their speed to follow from sideline to sideline. Which will create less coverage time for the secondary. Now thats all these Aggie Dad got to say sbout this tread. well said

He was a FBS prospect hands down. Every ACC team in NC and some outside were recruiting him I think Lee is an excellent recruit. But being an excellent recruit just means you SHOULD win. It says a lot about your coaching-up skills when you recruit well but a lot of them dont get much better than the day they stepped on campus. Also consider that freshman recruits normally dont make a big splash until their Junior year. His recruits(minus transfers) would be Juniors next season.

Refresh my memory. What was your point of view again? I'm curious also. What points of view did you try to preach that NO ONE agreed with? The "old heads" on this board have very wide ranges of opinions, so that statement just seems like venting. Ol School and I almost Never agree, lol. Thrilla and I agree about 50% of the time. Dooms and I about 80% KrazyKev - 75% - that's fam though, so I let him think he right sometimes, LOL Treese - 80%, but he's not as opinionated as I TruthSeeker - 50% I could go on, but you get my point.

Lol, I was about to type the same thing. It's hard for me to imagine a point of view not already covered in previous discussions. It might be a good idea to go through some of these old threads before making such statements.

After taking some very sound advice and going thru some of the old threads and reviewing 42 of my posts, I would like to extend an apology to anyone who felt like I was venting or calling out anyone personally(ol school, thrilla, dooms, krazykev, treese, truthseeker, aggie baby) never meant to imply that we have some sort of fued or that I'm mad at anyone or about anything thats said or posted on this board and I was venting about it. I was just trying to make a light hearted statement about how fun it was to observe opinions between the new members and the more veteran members of this board. nothing more, nothing less. Once again, if anyone was offended by my ill fated attempt at humor, Please accept my apology.

I have been reading what everyone has been saying and I agree there are so many things wrong with our athletic program that goes way beyond the field. In the past few years, how many AD's, Chancellors, Football Coaches have we had? We need some consistency in ALL of our departments if we want to see any growth. We all want to see results right away, i.e. Bethune but dont realize we have to have things in place to be successful. Everyone looks at what the Head Coach is doing with that program but he didnt inherit a bare cupboard. When Small got here, Hayes left him some good talent. Well Small didnt do a good job of recruiting and left the cupboard bare for Fobbs. And I think we all can agree the Fobbs didnt a good job at all at recruiting and left very kids in the cupboard for Lee. So when we look on the field we have R-Freshman, Freshman and Sophomores going against for the most part, growmn men. Those of us that played the game of football at the collegiate level know that it can be a tough transition. I think next year is where we should see some growth from football team. And if we dont, then you look to make a change. But if we want to build a program, lets give someone the time to build it. Im sure as fans and alumnists we want our braggin rights and everything else that comes with being a winner. But I dont know about anyone else but I see a team with talent that has the potential to be pretty good. If we get the increase in scholarships like coach lee speaks of, then we have to be smart and recruit some jucs to give us some solid depth. He may need to make some changes on his staff to better coaches to coach some of these kids to help their development. I just think its easy for us to sit back and complain and voice our opinions. But lets look at this thing realistically. Last year we had a really good D Line in the 4 horsemen. How many of those guys came back. We lost a lot in those 4 guys. And this year we are playing with guys who it is their first time really playing. If you remember, we talked about how bad to O Line was when Big E was a pup. Now those guys are older and playing a whole lot better. Lets give this thing a chance and do all we can to keep the morale of these young men. And if next season if we dont see different results.......

I think most of us are disappointed because of such a huge drop off from the previous year .

I could agree with you bigtime if that was totally the case. I wouldn't say a word if it was, HOWEVER, sure the loss of the Motown connection hurt but, we had back-fillers for those positions that were not eligible at season's start. We had at least 3 or 4 defensive lineman that should be starting for us that aren't on the team. My fear is the eligibility issue...it seems that's going to always snake bite us coming out of camp and we can't get the guys that we want to count on eligible to play. The guys we have on the defensive line should be back-ups for the starters...by my calculation the starters were to be: Darius Hall, Darius Dawkins, Eric Young, Micah Stanfield. Also, we had a defensive end to be shot and killed in his hometown of Ahoskie, NC. So, the issue is eligibility...I'm not to sure that we have a solution for the issue yet.
