raper? is he still on the team? i didn't see nor hear his name called at all last night. i really thought he'd have a big season this year... He fumbled away a kickoff cause he didn't run underneath it. Tried to let it bounce first and it took a bad hop. Shortly aftwards they scored their 3rd TD. Wasn't sure if the up-man was suppose to fair catch it and then Raper called him off? Or if Raper thought he would fair catch it , but he went forward to block, so Raper had no choice but to try and field it? Either way, that's not being prepared. very disappointing. i expected him to be returning kicks like ferrell does. he showed "flashes" of potential last year but has pretty much been a non-factor this year. i don't know if poor coaching can be the blame because ferrell doesn't seem to be having any problems...

Why not put 8 in the box? And have your corners play the best man to man coverage they know how....sure it's risky but, could it have been any worse than what we witnessed last night? Okay, I'm tired now...I'm going to the kitchen to get my paper bag to put on my head.

That's what makes me believe that the coaches gave up last night...not the players! Anybody in their right mind would've tried something different...oh wait, but us! Then again, maybe our coaches weren't in their right mind.

Wait a minute! I'm a father of one of the players as well, my son was asked to come to A&T to "REBUILD" a legacy, not continue one. By saying that, he was told it wasn't going to be eazy. So, he acceptted it, and whatever came with it. I was at the game before and after the back out lastnight. Its easy to hit, kick, or slam someone while their down. The coaching staff nor the players are playing, on a even playing field as the rest of the MEAC teams. Yes! A&T, Alums, Students, Parents, Coaches, and Players deserves better. But we can only play with the hand that we are dealt. Besides, I dont see no team in the MEAC beating BCU this year. That was a great veteran football team, I did say veteran. The same BCU team has been getting murdered since they was freshman. Last year they didn't win a game until they came to Greensboro, and even got thump by Shaw Univ. Well, were looking though the same site glasses a the BCU fans did for the last few years. We finally got two great back to back recruiting classes, who are freshman, redshirt freshman, and sophomores. Lets allow these youngmen to grow, coaches to coach them up. Then once again it will be our time to shine. Its a cycle that every program goes through. But all this stuff/crap about the defensesive coaching & players, got to stop. We dont have one vet on the Dline. Better yet! We being playing all D-ends across the front, the OLine is reaching our LBs before their reads can be made, which makes it impossible to stop the run. With a few additions of big run stopper, our DLine will be fine. Our LBs will be able to use their speed to follow from sideline to sideline. Which will create less coverage time for the secondary. Now thats all these Aggie Dad got to say sbout this tread.

You are a better man than me. If I my boys where high school seniors right now I don't know if I would want them coming to this program.
Not until a bunch of things got fixed. I know every program goes through cycles, but we have been stuck on sorry for the past 7 years now.
After what I saw last night, Lee is going to have to make some dramatic changes to his staff and overall coaching philosophy in order to right this ship. Just staying the course is no longer an option.

Lee needs to speed up his learning curve. He need to look at what these first year coaches are doing that he has not and get it done.

Risco, in your opinion, what is the biggest problem with our program right now? Do you have any possible solutions? There are a number of things wrong- I'm a coach too, so the last thing I want to do is bash the coaches- coach's creed. So, I have to assumed that the current coaches are teaching proper techniques and fundamentals. So I'll take this route- I don't see enough competition at every position, at least key positions, and that's a result of not having enough scholarships. Another thing- I read somewhere that this team has a number of walk-ons. To me that's a problem. That means recruiting has been suspect especially when a number of incoming recruits can't play for academic reasons- not to mention a number of upper-class men. I have watched a few games in person but have watched this BCU game several times already- it's good to be able rewind and play again. Too often kids are not doing their responsibilities-offense and defense. Mahew (is that correct) made a number of runs that were not by design. The defense looked confused and gap control was out the window. Simple reads on defense weren't read correctly. Enough of the glory hits- just wrap-up make the damn tackle. I will leave you with this- and this is no disrespect to any of the coaches- but a number of them are too inexperienced for the job they have. They need to grow a little- and maybe that's what they're doing...

Basically we have no d-tackles and our defensive coordinator is also our special teams coach and our defensive line coach, and is probably preparing for an interview at his alma mater.
We're coming off only four days rest and took a 500 plus mile trip.
We've got one win, they've got zero losses.
What'd y'all expect?

Hey Dooms- your first sentence- I can agree to... but the others- they are excuses... and for the Nupes, we know what excuses are. I expected the law of progression to come into play. This team has simply gotten worst over the course of the season. However, I do believe better days are ahead.

Not really excuses. They're facts. Of course another fact is we were outcoached and outclassed. There really wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that we were going to come within three tds of that team on our best day. We ain't got a good team and a win over a garbage Howard team doesn't change that. If you blame most of your troubles on the loss of one qb, you ain't got a team. That's where we are.

In all honestly, Alonzo Lee is a good coach. The hand he was delt in taking the Job is one that even Nick Saban himself would have trouble winning with. Where do I start? Because of the lack of graduation from previous player's (won't call'em aggies cause they aint graduate) in the past can be credited to the lack of talent that you see on the field in present day. Because of this the normal time allotted by the NCAA to practice, for meetings, and strength and conditioning which is 20 hours per week has been cut to 16 hours a week. Thanks Guys for not graduating. You Fu** the Program, ROYALY! That is not all, Nutrition also plays a big roll in athletic performance. Why the hell NCA&T don't have a training table? If you have under developed players the thing would be to develop them physically, right? Wrong in the case of A&T we'll just blame the coaches. NC A&T has had the space in Williams Cafe to have a training table since it was built. This space is right upstairs above the main food line. The excuse they use for not utilizing the space is that it only has one stairwell.....Fire hazard. Coach Hayes used it for a time in 2002 but after that they killed it. You mean we can build million dollar buildings but can't build a simple staircase to insure the prosperity of the sole program that funds the whole of Athletics? The training table theory wouldn't just be for the football team it would be for the whole of athletics. Players : NC A&T football has 42 or 43 Scholarships out of the allotted 63 this is because of past players not graduating. Once again Thanks a lot. 1/2 of the team are walk-ons and 1/3 of the scholarship players are walk-ons put on money. So there is a lack of talent within the A&T Football program when it comes to players. Coach Lee sees this and is doing the best he can. He recruited the #3 recruiting class in the country last year. He'll be lucky if NCAA regulation allows him to recruit 2 players this year. The lack of talent can also be credited to the players themselves who take the opportunity to cry and complain about what it takes to be a champion. Most of them would rather chase girls than championship rings, would rather sleep in than to go to class, would rather drop out than to graduate. Coaches: There is a lack of toughness and integrity within the coaching staff. Players see right thru what’s supposed to be closed doors, and are mentally effected by it and also the lack of cohesion they see amongst the coaching staff. I'm sorry to say discipline isn't the foundation of championships. It is conditioning! Conditioning is the foundation for everything football. You have to be conditioned to react, to think, to use proper technique, and to outlast the other opponent. A&T doesnt' condition like its going to win a Championship, it conditions like its going to win a game. Hence, the record. The coaching staff is not preaching toughness. It's not preaching that "me and my brothers verse the world mentality". It's just preaching. this is evident in the defense style of play this year. Arm tackles, guys not laying the wood, pink wrist bands. Take that breast cancer crap off and put the black back on. I won’t even mention the offense.( they’re not worth mentioning) We look like a bunch of maritime metro sexuals out there running around. You have players that won't even push themselves to finish their sprints in practice on time, and worse you have coaches that will stand idly by and let them. That’s not coaching, that’s going through the motions. If they don't make the time make they a$$ need run until they do. ALL OF THEM! The whole team should be accountable for 1 mans mishaps. (this would also get them to start policing themselves and be responsible and accountable for their actions, hence discipline) then make them run some more. The hills not being used (period). Make someone quit! Weed the ones out that don't wont to be there, that don't understand that their just here to GRADUATE and play FOOTBALL, that don't know what Aggie pride stands for, and won't sacrifice a arm, or a leg, or a neck for it. Check this out and it'll give you a reason why Bethune Cookman University put 67 up on us and are undefeated at this point www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyqDuHfWMNQ. What it boils down to is the coaching staff bringing out the best in who they have to win. Not saying we just sorry and going home to their wives. They have to get those boys to run thru brick walls for them, to believe in something bigger than themselves, to let them know what I put you through I’m not afraid to go through it myself. They( the coaches) themselves have to make the sacrifice even if it means working 19-20 hour days for 8 months to find a way to win. Which we know ain't happening it’s about 9 to 7:30 in Strickland and Mrs. Bailey out work them all. Toughness ain't being preached ask Ragsdale, ask Odums, ask Stroman. If they can't get these boys to believe in themselves it’s going to be off to the Chopping Block. Because Martin doesn’t want to hear that sheeet nor does he care. You saw how he did Wheeler. (That’s another story in itself) He's just concerned about the wins. Call my bluff? If he ain't, tell him to put a training table in the cafe for the Athletes and see what happens (and then see how effective Walthaw workouts become with the right nutrition.) Coach Lee, is not bringing out the best in his players, his staff doesn't have the mentality to do so. He has a bunch of pretty boys and it's probably 4 guys on that staff that actually work, that actually know what winning takes! Don't get it twisted Bluedeath valley, when it comes down to it He's a hell of a coach but he's not perfect. He has his flaws that he has to fix and I hope he does cause I personally know what he's made of......A Champion. A lot of things plague the A&T football program. So much that I could probably write a book on it. You can point the finger at everybody across the board! Administration, coaches, players and ALUMNI!!!! Holla at yo boy

My problem Lies within the lack of motivation in the coaching staff and the players. THe Player: Everybody wants to go to the NFL but don't nobody want to work to get there. Parents ask your sons are they going the extra mile? They'll probably tell you yeah. They just lied to your face. You can see the people that put in extra work cause its evident in their performance. Justin Ferrell, Mike Mayhew, Wallace Miles, Chris Neal, Brandon Jackson, Jeremy Graham. Quay Long. And the List ends there. Its 70+ more people on that team. Smdh, Don't be dumb to the fact that your child is not self motivated to reach their potential. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. At some point the Kid needs to say to themself I want to be the best I can be, and I am prepared to grit my teeth, take the PAIN, and do it. Football by no means is fun. It stops being fun after 12 grade. Collegiate Football is Brutal it will test your soul. It is a business. It is a Rehearsal that only the man who is willing to go further, work harded, and put everything on the line to be better than everyone on that field will be able to perform in the main Act which is the NFL. Coaches: You got to find a way to win. You have to find a way to pull out the best in all of these kids. Stop babysitting! If they not gone do what they told, if they not gone put out, get them out of there. SIMPLE. I wouldn't care if he did run a 4.2 40 if he a cancer he has to go!. I don't care if he bench press 450 pounds 6 times If he a cancer he got to go. I don't care If his mama and daddy crying to me on the phone, "play my son" is he putting out in practice? NO. Is he remembering the scheme? NO. Is he using the technique that is being taught? NO.hen Shut up. What you need to find are Winners. I believe you have some on your team, you have a lot. Sure they're not the cream of the crop. Who cares, they put on their pants the same way. It just means that you have to coach a little bit harder and teach a little bit longer, and always motivate. Any Coach knows its hard to work with guys who may not be as strong or as fast, but hell you a coach that your job. Stop making excuse for them. They all should be up @ 5:00 every morning lifting & running, then Breakfast, then Class! Check class. You don't have the time you say? Get some girls off campus, and give them some type of incentive to check those boys classes for you. I'm sure its some students on campus that would die to help out with Aggie football. Have a up tempo Practice then get them off to dinner and have Team Study hall in the multi purpose and golden helmet rooms. Monitored by GA's and Assistant coaches. simple. get them off that lazy routine of life they're on, and get in their lives. when they screw up drop the hammer on them and the whole team. Everybody Pay, cause when the last second tick off the score board in the 4th everybody lose. Condition them physically. Make it Extremely hard to be an Aggie. Eveytime they step on the field of competition their eyes should water up, and they should think to themselves I'm a kill this MF in front of me cause he ain't been thru the pain I've been thru. HE AIN'T WORKED HARDER THAN ME!!!! We ain't working hard enough as a staff. We not reaching our potential! Get ya minds right and find a way to fix it. Sacrifice now, so you can be sucessful later. Good Luck. Holla at yo Boy
