I am a Mom of one of the players and I have to say I have patiently watched, listened, and observed for most of the season but ON SOOOO MANY LEVELS, this is not A D1 program and should not be sold as one to the kids. If you can't put what is required - good coaching, good academic advising, and decent dorm facilities, into a D1 program, then don't pretend. It is disheartening for all! We as alumni think it's tough on us, but the parents of these football players feel it even more deeply. The parents see their sons going through this horrible football season and they feel their pain.

i think the offense played well enough to keep us in the game last night. but the defense couldn't stop bcu from scoring. our offense moved the ball, but bcu scored on almost every possession they had. when your defense gives the opponent a touchdown almost every time they have the ball, not much your offense can do to stay in the game.
i'm not sure that i saw bcu punt the ball 1 single time all night...

OUCH aggiemom10!!! That stings but you are absolutely correct. I've been saying it since WSSU that everyone deserved better...especially the athletes. But, I will ask that you try and convince your son to stay the course although it looks bleak right now. The answers to our problems aren't as complex as one will make it seem. For starters, as you saw last night, putting the right coaches in place helps tremendously.

We have a terrible, terrible, terrible defense and that's what cost us that game as well as others. Let's face it, we scored 17 points on BCU; a penalty costed us another 7 more points and a fumble on BCU's 1 yard line probably cost us 7 more points. Gang, 31 points should be enough to win any game. Cleanup the penalties, get rid of the fumbles and get a defense that can stop somebody and we'll be a winner. Also, remember SCSU didn't score a single point on BCU yet we put up 17 (should have been 31). Most of the season I have been hard on Chennis Berry's offense but he finally has it working and our offensive line is doing great.
Back to the defense, they are terrible, they had not been prepared for BCU's type offense. Being down 19-0 and seeing what BCU was running, I thought the coaches would have taken advantage of the blackout period and restructured our defense to stop BCU's offense but they didn't. Currently, I think our defensive coaches are by far the weakest link in our football program. Also remember, our defense gave up 32 points to Howard. They are terrible.

Correct- the defense lost gap control too often- to many renegades or incorrect teaching.

I'd like to snatch my son off the team; however, and for some reason, I believe things are going to get better. Sometime things have a way of working out and I believe this one will too. It's hard times now, no doubt.

Risco, in your opinion, what is the biggest problem with our program right now?
Do you have any possible solutions?

Risco, in your opinion, what is the biggest problem with our program right now? Do you have any possible solutions? to me personally, its primarily the d-line. they're getting blown off the ball. they get zero penetration. that's why teams are able to march up and down the field on us. unless we find a couple of "stud" d-linemen, we're going to continue to have problems stopping folk...

The defense is bad and it is more than just the D'line. The D'line is getting blown off the ball but most of the team can't tackle. Last night the arm tackled countless times. I mean these guys had speed but they shouldn't have broken the tackles that they did last night. I feel for every Aggie player, parent, and fan

I urge you to let your feelings be known to the Chancellor directly as he prepares to select a new Director of Athletics if you have not already done so. And you are right, the kids do deserve better.

Our pass game really destroyed them and setup the run success. remember when Hines went out we struggled badly to get a run play off the line, Raper was getting hit in the backfield!

raper? is he still on the team? i didn't see nor hear his name called at all last night. i really thought he'd have a big season this year... He fumbled away a kickoff cause he didn't run underneath it. Tried to let it bounce first and it took a bad hop. Shortly aftwards they scored their 3rd TD. Wasn't sure if the up-man was suppose to fair catch it and then Raper called him off? Or if Raper thought he would fair catch it , but he went forward to block, so Raper had no choice but to try and field it? Either way, that's not being prepared.

Raper was the one who had that kickoff bounce through his arms which set up BCU's third touchdown. The ESPNU crew erroneously thought that was Warren.
