And something tells me you are afraid to ask the tough questions and will just think what those in power want you to think. Amen.

...I think that we have to be very careful in how we view and speculate about the management of athletics on the campus. Some of us are too "ole" to get overly worked up about athletics. I guess we also have to take with a grain of salt what is reported in the media (hence 10 players). We also have to remember our precarious academic situation with the UNC system as well as the NCAA. There is a delicate balance here that has to be walked. SACS and NCAA accreditations are looming on the horizon. Let's step back and see how all of this unravels before having to polish off a bottle of booze before the next game. Well said.

captagree, without question that should be the number 1 focus (academics). but, let's understand the issue at hand. if these young men were ruled ineligible then so be. i still think we can do more to help them, but that's another topic. but, my point is, once the final roster is poster the week of the game, there shouldn't be a reason why we shouldn't expect those players to be on the field. the way i see it, they have all August to get a legit roster posted, whatever it takes. when those players don't hit the field, i think any reasonable person would want to know why. that's not far-fetched at all. i'll be the first to say if a player is good but can't spell his own name doesn't need to be on anyone's football field in college. well hell maybe i'm spoiled....i just think there's a right way to do things and a wrong way...i think we dropped the ball on this one.

We need to just take it for what it is, we gave away the game! It's one of those things where no matter who was on the field, it wouldn't have made a difference. It was starters that missed tackles at the end. We missed field goals with starters. Technically, we left 26 points on the field by not capitalizing on turnovers and converting them into points. Trying to figure out why I players name is on the roster that didn't qualify to play in the game is a mute point at this junction.

That's true...but that defense is not to blame for missed tackles when they created 4 turnovers in the opponents territory and we came away with no points. I can agree with we left many points out there.

Giving the timing of it, and how it was handled yes, there is a ton of support for players as it should be in this situation,
I would have never put this on these kids at the last minute like Martin did. It is bush league, its is unprofessional, and a slap in the face to the students and their parents if he knew this was his policy all along, let these kids practice, get beat up and nicked up, and then failed to act upon the 2.0 rule (which I don't have a problem at all with if given the proper time for the athletes and coaches to transition into - like a one freaking non-participation semester to get their grades in order) until right it up before game time like someone suddenly discovered a secret light switch.
It really smells of the "Old Ted Mack Amatuer Hour Radio Show" for this adminsitration to try to claim it wants to be so procactive in academics and student friendly as well.
It's an oxymoron at best in this case. Down right embasrrasing.

Isn't this the same way we lost the kid from Dematha on the BB team?

With that aside, with that many key players ineligible at the last moment, not from NCAA rules, but by some mysterious university new standard, we have some far more serious problems going on here and a lot deeper issues besides a hurt quarterback or losing a football game. Something much bigger is going on here underneath the surface andf it begins at the very top. There is no excuse for this unless the objective was to sabotage the entire football program for whatever reason. First appearances and the impressions are usually 90 percent accurate in both the worlds of business or government. I don't know how this happened or why this wasn't squared away earlier when this administration knew it was coming up and then told no one on the staff about it and especially not right up until game time. I am really ticked off right now but I promise each reader here personally, I plan on finding out what's going on and who or what group was responsible for this idoicy, how this came to happen and I going to get to the bottom of it one way or the other and report on it in detail no matter who gets embarrassed or gets their nose out of joint. Last night's revelations was nothing more than a jack leg operation at its best and the alumni and contributors who spend their hard earned dollars every year on these alumi foundation ans scholarship drives deserve some real answers and not this "one of those things" lines from either the athletic department, the administration, or the chancellor's office. This is not acceptable on any level or nor could its timing have kind of justification. Take it from a person who deals in identifying crime and its makeup on a daily basis, this wreaks of an intentional and deliberate act. Hey A1, I think you were on point here. You still up to do some investigating?

the 2.0 mandate should not even be a problem because once you a accumulate a certain # of hrs at the university you must maintain a 2.0 average to prevent being placed on academic probation. Also i feel that A&T alum and fans are the worst critics ever. We are quick to judge with few facts. We want to become an elite powerhouse but HATE change!! We want to see more money invested into athletics but are slow to give!! I understand that A&T is not as transparent as some would like but do to laws and such some information isnt meant for the general public..Eventually you all will see the vision of chancellor Martin..He has a plan and a vision so i am asking AGGIES to be supportive and patient until all is revealed......bashing bashing bashing!!!!! It must stop.....As a current student when i speak to Alum it is always negative....I get excited when I hear something positive out of an Alum's mouth!!! As alum who have great power It is up to you all to attend these events where the Dr.Martin is available to engage in conversation besides talking amongst each other. He is very personable and willing to speak to anyone in regards to any topic..

You're right. With all these big games and championships our football program has won over the past decade, we probably should be a bit more appreciative.
I think these recent years of success and stability has left some of us a little spoiled. It's like we are starting to feel entitled to win more than two games each season or something.
My humble apologies ....
