My suggestion to all is to hold your comments until the true facts are known. All of this speculation doesn't help at all.

Considering this is A&T, the true facts may never be known. It's not like this university has a history of being transparent.
Maybe speculation will put pressure on the powers that be to come clean and explain to the masses just what is going on.
If the fans don't speak up in this situation, I can guarantee you that the administration sure as hell won't.

And something tells me you are afraid to ask the tough questions and will just think what those in power want you to think.

Trilla,
With what I contribute a year, I'm not afraid to ask any questions. Just like many up here, I reach to Wheeler too. I'm not trying to be apart of the problem. I express my support to him and share information about prospects here in Gwinnett County, Ga. I like to think that if we on this board had all the answers then there would be no need for him in the capacity he's in. To much anxiaty is not healthy over the unknown is not healthy. That's why I try to deal in facts and not speculation.

Gator, please. SPECULATION is what makes this process fun. Speculation is what makes the fan forum what it is. If you want facts, go to the library.

Well Gator...what other facts do you need? 10 players WERE ruled ineligible for Saturday's game against WSSU...4 of which, would have contributed significant minutes during the game. Those are the facts and they are undisputed at this point. The speculation is about why and what happened. Oh did I mention, we lost the game too.

Can we agree on the fact that academics is a priority over athletics? It appears we're more concerned getting these young men on the field instead of knowledge in their minds.
Ultimately, its the athletes' responsibility to complete their academic requirements. Once their eligibility is expired, will you still care about them?

Mr. Brown held a press conference yesterday to give an explanation. It appears that there were only four players with a problem and one those was seems to have been cleared. The other three are being worked on and may be resolved soon. I think I understood his explanation. Hopefully, I have given an accurate account of what he said.
I think that we have to be very careful in how we view and speculate about the management of athletics on the campus. Some of us are too "ole" to get overly worked up about athletics. I guess we also have to take with a grain of salt what is reported in the media (hence 10 players). We also have to remember our precarious academic situation with the UNC system as well as the NCAA. There is a delicate balance here that has to be walked. SACS and NCAA accreditations are looming on the horizon. Let's step back and see how all of this unravels before having to polish off a bottle of booze before the next game.

I think most are ok with the 2.0 mandate. Just give athlethes a period longer than a day to comply.
I am all for the 2.0 GPA just at least give a semester to comply.
