.. yet we throw another coach under the bus. Nobody's being thrown under the bus really. This is a message board. We have fun. Over time you will begin to realize what's serious and what's not. BDF is crazy funny and sarcastic. Other folk think we're serious on everything (NOT!). Well, maybe Thrilla is. ;D Welcome to the Board!

I've just been informed that Coach Ray has already landed on his feet and gotten the OL coach job at Alabama State.
He starts next week.

Speculation about Coach Oliver's realations on a message board is which; crazy, funny or sarcastic. This is an area where we should live by the "DOOMS Doctrine" it you wouldn't say it to their face, why post it.

The minute he said "relations", I thought about Clinton and busted out laughing. It's just a humorous look at why he was retained and not others. And the fact that he said a Board member is so outrageous that it was even funnier. To take that seriously is like taking Saturday Night Live seriously. Lighten up 77. ;D

If you are in coaching you are always looking out for the bus!!! If you were offended, sorry but when certain words are chosen, doors open and "damn" , here comes the bus. Also, I would say it to his face. I dislike his recruiting and I believe Coach Odoms would have been a much superior choice. He's been here six years, it's time to find another" position",

Maxell, I appreciate your comments on my comment! Damn, if you can't joke with family, who can you joke with?!?! (and it was just a joke - don't know and don't care if he was realling giving the business to someone on the BOT).

So wart you say odums is a better recruiter, but who has he recruited to a&t. now odums did a pretty good job with the defense and i would have loved to see him stay around for that fact. but what players has he brought in? and what players has oliver brought in that makes him a bad recruiter. please enlighten us ole wise one!

Odoms was here for one season, tough to bring anyone in when you are not here for the recruiting season. As far as Oliver, I have watched the secondary for several years and they were terrible. Every position coach has input on their players so if everyone believes in his recruiting, maybe I just don't like him or his coaching.

205, The difference is what you want out of a situation. Is it a stepping stone or is it a career? Most coaches move around I agree because they didn't do the job or the grass was greener somewhere else. Others do what they are assigned to do , be a part of the team and stay as long as they want.

I guess 205 withdrew from the board. Without his posts it makes some of the comments look foolish. Why are his posts gone?

I checked the security log and it seems that he decided to go back and manually delete all this previous posts.
Not quite sure why.

He probably wants to continue to work.
While we fans appreciate his candor (at least I know I did) it may not be appreciated in the coaching community.

I have a feeling it was getting to close to home on some of the things being brought up. The coaching frat likes honesty and with what he was saying I believe he was digging a hole he could not get out of in the future. As several people mentioned, he was a member of the staff as OC and had great input on whether players should be kept or released.
