... except for Ragsdale and DB coach Travis Oliver.
I just received word about the firings from several sources close to the program.
Oliver must have nine lives or a serious get out of jail free card because he was one of the few coaches to transfer over from the Small regime.
I'm not sure if this means Wheeler is close to hiring a new coach anytime soon, or what impact this will have in terms of recruiting.
I guess we'll all just have to stay tuned ...

BTW: Here's a email I just received from former OL coach Kenneth Ray (he gave me permission to post it here):
Semaj' Man I just want to take this opportunity to apologize to the Aggie Nation and Blue Death Valley. I want y'all to know that I never gave up on trying to make this work. For whatever reason we did not get it done. I'm not making any excuses just letting you guys know I gave it my all. I love coaching and I hate not being able to put A&T back to it's winning ways. I pray yall soon will be able to cheer more than be sad and mad at games. I learned a lot while here. Mostly what not to do to be a successful program, but they were valuable lessons. I wish yall nothing but the best. I will definitely be looking at the sports ticker checking on A&T in the future. I hope you continue to support and do what you do for your school. You and your site are important for A&T. Hey whatever the Lord's has planned for me I can always say I experienced a little AGGIE PRIDE!!!!!!!! in my lifetime and I wouldn't change what I went through here for nothing. Because this experience has taught be to be a better Coach, Husband, Father, and Friend, Take Care! Maybe our paths will cross again one day. Coach Ray

Oliver must do a lot extra things outside of football to keep his job at A&T because inside of football he hasn't made one bit of positive difference on this football program.

I think I can speak for nearly everyone here when I say I wish Coach Ray and his family nothing but the best of luck. He was always a class act towards me and was a big fan of this site.
I also know he was one of the most respected coaches on the staff by the players. I'm sure he will land on his feet in the very near future.

Man, I would trade Ray for Oliver's spot in a new york minute.
I wish Wheeler could have a do-over.

I thought the defensive coordinator did a somewhat decent job considering he got zero support from the offense.

Yeah, I almost forgot about Odums. I would have kept him also.
Maybe this means that the new coach already has his own defensive coordinator in mind

Odums was the man. He got it done, no excuses.
Ray always seemed like a guy ready to accept responsibility. I think he knew what he was doing as shown by his stats as o.c. and o-line coach at his previous stop. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the o-line coach and the o.c. need to be on the same page (and not be overburdened).
Ray'll be a head coach in the next ten years. So will Odums.
I wish nothing but the best to the whole staff and I hope that this will be the last time we have to do this crap for a long time.

Dooms the problem is when you want to entice a new coach to come help your program they never want a incumbent Defensive Coordinator. WB would have no chance of getting a Broadway type coach here.
Sorry he's got to go.
This does sound like he will not be making Ragsdale the head coach because I am sure Odums contract would have been renewed.

What's the problem? All I said was he was the man and he got it done. He's been relieved of his duties so a "Broadway type" coach doesn't have to worry about it. Neither does a Fobbs type coach.
