Some good news. According to this article, Sergio is coming. I wish we could have got the DT also. dailymail.com/Sports/200806190071MARSHALL HAS lost a pair of football players to Division I-AA programs. Sophomore defensive tackle Shane Moore will play for Norfolk State in the fall, while redshirt freshman offensive guard Sergio Glenn will play for North Carolina A&T. Both will be immediately eligible, according to NCAA guidelines, because they are transferring down a division. "It's a personal decision," Snyder said. "If they feel like there's a better place for them, then they need to go after their future endeavors." Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with fellow historically black colleges and universities Delaware State, South Carolina State, Hampton, Morgan State, Bethune-Cookman, Howard and Florida A&M. Sergio and Enoch Cohen Played together at North Forsyth High. This is very good news after the tragic lose of Chad.

The offensive line just got a lot better especially at the left tackle spot which was our weakest point last season. He was Rivals 3-star lineman and a oustanding pass blocker coming out of high school with good feet and really long arms.
Nice to see we'll have him for four straight years and with Donald Pollock coming in, we'll be both huge and physical on both sides now. I feel very good about our situation after McKenzie moved Cohen to the starting center spot in the spring.
Things are shaping up rather nicely along the OL heading into August camp.

Those 6'6 - 6'9 OL are coming right in for those that doubt we could recruit them.
I remember some Aggie Members laugh at me when I said that is what we are going to have to recruit in order to compete.

The offensive line - if we we suiting them up today on paper, would look something like this on a my depth chart:
LT- Sergio Glenn 6-6 325 Adrian Carter 6-4 305
LG - Tim Bess 6-3 340 Jason Valmont 6-4 300
C - Enoch Cohen 6-4 290 Nate Anderson 6-3 310
RG - Jon Carter 6-4 310 Matt Hamler 6-3 315
RT - Donald Pollock 6-7 370 Alex Harper 6-5 290
There is a medical redshirt appeal for an extra year pending with the NCAA on senior Juan Williams from 2006. If that comes through then plug him at Jon Carter's spot at right guard.
We still have additional guys who have considerable playing experience plus the rest of the freshmen who will most likely red shirt all with the exception of Pollock.
At least its something to talk about while we wait these last 42 days before camp opens.

I hate to say it, but if Bess is in the starting lineup all bets are off. I hope he has improved his work ethic over the offseason but I'm not expecting anything different from what we've been seeing the last 3 years.

I feel the way about Miller. If he's our Starter then it's the same old politics just a different year.

I agree that Bess is going to have to really step up because if I were makng the call I would put Valmont in the starting lineup.
I accessement was strictly looking at giving him the nod because he is a senior and had started for two staight years like most writers would.
However, I firmly believe Valmont will be the starter at left guard by opening day against JCSU and Bess will be the first backup at both center and guard and will still play quite a bit.
As far as quarterback, my opinion is that Fears had locked that spot down without a doubt for McKenzie after what he and everyone else with half brain saw in spring practice running his new offense.
However, I think new coaches, as a general rule, are not willing at this point to say so publically as not to completely destroy the kid's confidence or attitude before the season starts if he is called on if someone goes down.

Aggie One the offense is looking good. What is your view on the defense?

Herb will start the JCSU game ... and every game thereafter.
Fears is a poor man's Herb Miller, Morgan is playing wideout and Terrence is just a true freshman.

Bess was a two-time 1st team All State selection in high school. He is really gonna have to improve this season or else he will go down as one of the biggest BUSTS in A&T history.

Unless Fears has improved a helluva lot between November 2007 and March 2008, I wouldn't get too excited over him.
