My counting and thinking are fine…. The lead is down to 9 with 8:40 left - correct? In this scenario, we would have to: 1) Stop them from scoring (1 possession) 2) score ourselves (2nd possession) 3) Stop them from scoring again (3rd possession) 4) Score again (4th possession) So 4 ideal possessions would have to have gone down in 8 minutes for us to win. We ca agree to disagree, but this doesn’t sound the most logical…. You didn't include the impact of scoring zero points, we would have been down 12 vs 9. You score zero points and you need two touchdowns to win. kick a field goal and you need a touchdown and field goal to win. I did include the impact of scoring 0 points....but when it's 8+ minutes left in the game, you ain't gonna have the ball many more times to score points. If this was 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter....cool. We were on their side of the field. You are looking at the worst case scenario....how about if we converted 4th down and eventually got a TD.....that would make it 35-30, with 5-6 minutes left. We would have only had to stop them ONCE....not the TWO TIMES in your scenario. It's too much to ask for a team to score twice (with one having to be a TD) and asking that same team to hold the opposition TWICE....all in a span of 8:41. Again, we can agree to disagree, but there wasn't enough time to get 4 IDEAL POSSESSIONS in for us to potentially win.

Which was the right call . It may have been the "right" call, but you have to make some big boy calls sometimes. Having a hot qb in the redzone leading a comeback -on HOMECOMING- what better moment to go for it?

I get why we kicked the FG. However, possessions are at a premium, especially with the clock changes. But ultimately, what hurt us was going too conservative at times during various points of the game. The most glaring one was effectively wasting that first possession deep in our territory. The coach and his staff will learn to get more aggressive at all points of the game.
But also, us not getting the 2pt Conversion also threw us off track a bit in keeping up with Towson. But then again, our defense has gotta get at least one key stop.
So to me, both sides here have valid points.

Today’s game was difficult to watch while in the stadium. Poor tackling, play calling, time management, lack of football instincts and just not really exciting. One play maker for the Aggies, Cook. I expect two more L’s for 1-9. Brown did not have a full recruiting cycle so he gets a pass from me. I am anxious to see who and how many players he signs. There are a lot of needs, maybe too many to address in one recruiting cycle. Can Brown bring in the necessary talent or coach up average talent?

Yiu don’t need 4 ideal possessions if you need a field goal vs a touchdown. We needed a FG AND a TD (not FG vs a TD).... Correct, if we don't take the 3 then we need two touchdowns. Going for it on 4th and 7 on the Tow 21 isn't a high percentage chance.

....neither is expecting to score 10 points in 8:41, which requires 4 changes of possession to occur

So it's harder to score two touchdowns from 4th and 7 near the RZ with 8 minutes left than it is to score twice with who knows how ever much time we got left after kicking a field goal.......got it

Did anyone see a lot of HS recruits at the game today? If they are serious quite a few recruits tend to go to your best home game, which in our case this year is GHOE.

The question is really about deciding which path Coach Brown believed he could successfully accomplish knowing how his offense, defense, and special teams were currently playing. For the season we have converted on 4th down a low 30%. In this game the team was playing better compared to any other game and had generated points when in the red zone all but once. Coach probably felt that if the defense could get a stop or turnover and the offense could get back in the red zone they would come away with points. He was not conceding the game at that point. Tough decision. It did not work.

I just remember the sidelines were full of recruits in the past and especially for GHOE. I am not sure if we had a lot of guys here yesterday. If we did not, then shame on our coaches and especially our head coach. We can turn this thing around in one year. I am not sure if this coaching staff can make that happen.
