Based on the sellout crowd, and the packed streets, it looks like it doesn't matter who we play at homecoming or how bad our record is, folks will show up. Who we play at Homecoming doesn't appear to be an issue except for the band-heads and die-hard HBCU fans. I don't much care which conference we are in or who we play for Homecoming but... I do care about winning. If our football program continues to suck like it does this season, then I'm all for going back to the MEAC or CIAA!

I agree with most of your statement but going back to the MEAC or CIAA was not one of them . There is no going back ,only forward SMIB RESPECT.

Some of the Community Brothers suggest that we play an HBCU for Homecoming. Due to a potential Band Match-up and possibly their Fans wanting to enjoy GHOE. NO HBCU for homecoming...if they want to see a band battle then they need to attend a different game. It make zero financial sense to play a HBCU for homecoming.

If the game is gonna sell out regardless, what difference does it make financially if we schedule a HBCU or not?

If the game is gonna sellout regardless, what difference does it make financially if we schedule a HBCU or not? Playing SCSU will get 13K in the stands vs playing Rhode Island that will draw 8k fans. Better to play Rhode Island at GHOE to get 21500 in attendance. More money for the school in this scenario.

So are you saying A&T fans care more about HBCU opponents than PWI opponents?
Scheduling an HBCU for non-GHOE home games would generate an average increase of 5,000 more fans?
Is that your argument?

Truthfully no body cares who the opponent is. THE GHOE is about A&T nothing more or less.

The oc can slide them his resume during the game. All bases covered.

Broadway made no apologies about wanting to schedule patsies for home games when he first got to A&T. We said that is what the big schools do and we need to follow that model.
Maybe Brown needs to follow suit and try to schedule a D2 HBCU every year.

Of course, A&T fans care more about HBCU opponents than PWI opponents...at least some/many say they do. Not sure about the increase but I believe there would be some level of increase. That said, I believe Elon would draw more than Del St. or Morgan. Maybe Campbell will get there someday. Also included here would be how well teams are doing...including us.
