VA Tech, NC State and ECU all had graphics and tweets done by auxiliary alumni/fan groups. That's how the game is played in social media. So we figured... why not us?! Hendon liked it and re-tweeted it this morning. So it's worth it, regardless of his final decision.

What good would ODU's facilities have been to Keyes if the Monarch football program doesn't run an offense that is predicated to his strengths/talents?? You are a facilities (what somebody has) person...... Those facilities are a moot point if you ain't gonna get playing time. Every QB on the roster ain't gonna be passing on Saturday. Every running back ain't gonna get a carry on Saturday. It's cool to tell everybody you're going to Alabama or Notre Dame or Michigan.........but when the freshman and sophomore seasons roll around and the waterboy is getting as much playing time as you are on the field, how have those amenities at Big School U help get you to the next level? For every Deshawn Watson (Clemson), there are DeShawn Jenkinses out there ( ie. Good QB's riding the pine at Big School U). At the end of the day, if a player is truly serious about football being his way out, he has to make sure he is in the right environment/situation to thrive. For the record.......WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT HERE DOES NOT PERTAIN TO HERNDON HOOKER. I'M SPEAKING IN GENERAL TERMS...... Hey, I'll give an amen to this sermon. Unfortunately most teenage athletes don't look past the glitter and press clippings to see what's best for them. But that's beengoing on for ages and I don't expect that to change any time soon.

Wish him the best.
If my son had those chooses A&T would not be the top pick either especially how we really do not develop QB to get prepared for the next level. Just my opinion.

The best of luck to him and his family..........the Va Tech QB situation has been very shaky over these past few years. He appears to have made a good FBS decision with respect to where he chose to play. Furthermore, the new coach at Va Tech (Fuentes) is aggressive on offense. Paxton Lynch, former Memphis QB under Fuentes, is the #3 NFL QB coming out this year. He thrived under Fuentes at Memphis.
Herndon made a sound decision.....but once again, everything from what I said on page 1 stands......

This is where I question the decision to play for the Celebration Bowl vs. the NCAA playoffs for the MEAC and SWAC. All the financials point towards the CB. But players with higher levels of talent may not be willing to settle for playing in the CB. Just a thought.

Did he mention A&T during his interview with the radio station? Nah... didn't mention any of the other schools that recruited him, even when asked. He's 17 years old and focused on Virginia Tech. I had no issues with that at all.

I agree with NSS "...HBCUs will never be top-level in any sport if top-level brothas and sistas continue to shun us for other institutions." I will just add "academic endeavor" in addition to sport. As long as HBCU's accept second, then we will always be a distant fifth. If I remember correctly, I think former WR Doug Brown had offers form Florida but chose to attend A&T. I understand the pull of big-time college football and the pomp and pageantry that is appealing. However, having attended a few major NCAA events, I just do not see the average African-America graduate of these big-time schools supporting their alma mater's in large numbers after graduation. For example, I went down to the Orange Bowl for Oklahoma v. Clemson (YES I WAS AT THE CB TOO!) and I swear that out of 67k in attendance, there was no more than 1K African-Americans and 500 of those were player family members. Thanks for the BS OK. Lol I was at the game also so I know was hat your saying is BS.
