Its time to let the 2 QB thing go. Say thank u to Quick and move towards our future QB Be careful what you ask for !!!! This system is working just fine and getting the job done ! I trust what Broadway and his staff is doing, and I also feel that when Broadway and his staff decides to change it he will !! Cleary its not ... Direct quote from Broadway in the paper Norfolk State (2-4, 2-1 MEAC) had nine possessions that lasted just three plays, while A&T advanced into Spartans’ territory on nine of its first 10 possessions. Still, it was just a one-score game, at 10-3, until the last half of the third quarter, when the Aggies finally shook loose for 17 consecutive points. “We’ve got to get that fixed,” Broadway said. “That’s a coordinator’s dream, to get the field position that we had. We have to score 50 points when we do that. “We can’t continue doing this. When we get a short field, we’ve got to get points out of it.” You can read between the lines

The play-calling and execution has to get better on offense. It ALWAYS does.

Can you ? that had nothing to do with Quick or Raynard ! How doesn't it. One QB leads the offense better is more effective. That statement is more about the over all execution and play calling within the red zone or on a short Field.

Bwhahahaha ok. But wasn't it Broadway who fired Bustle and hired this new guy. Love what Broadway is doing for the program to hear remarks like this make me scratch my head.
He fired our OC who had us leading in several stats categories. Now he's questioning the play calling and execution?
I'm confused

Don't be confused. He wants the offense to get better faster. When you have nine chances to score in the first three quarters by driving 40 yards or less you should score more than half the time. Good coaches know that and have to ask why. You always question results, always. I like the fact that he wants to score 50 points! ...and he's a defensive guy.

And for whoever said the 3-3-5 didn't generate enough pressure:
First 4 games: 7 sacks, 27 total TFLs 10/10 vs NSU: 7 sacks, 13 total TFLs
Denzel Jones is still holding it down at MLB on the 1st 2 downs. But when you can sub and have 2 LBs who can blitz (Julius Reynolds and Jeremy Taylor) and at least one who can cover well (Marcus Albert)... it's a tough defense to handle on 3rd and long.
Plus... as the season wears on, we can put Julian McKnight at the NT in that set and kick Ragland out to DE along with Keyes/Hampton-Prioleau/Blue.
It's a credit to Coach Washington for not putting this out too soon... there won't be a lot of game tape for the MEAC coaches to digest for this one.

Lol 3-3-5 is a fair defense against teams that are one-dimensional with no running game that was the point I was trying to make. But as long as it's not the Base Defense I can live with it. It does add a new wrinkle to our defense.

i haven't seen anything in raynard's play that suggests he's some kind of "savior" for this team. clearly he's a better passer than quick, but raynard has "weaknesses" of his own just like quick does. raynard's best pass appears to be the long ball and he does that quite well. but his short and intermediate passes leave a lot to be desired. also, i'm still not seeing "check downs" from raynard while in the pocket and he hasn't been a threat to run the ball at all.
both qb's have weaknesses and both qb's are "below average" qb's, imo...

We have LBs who can cover, close and blitz... fast. This allows us to take advantage of that. I have to stay focused on our 2015 defense, which is shaping up to be pretty good. But our 2016 defensive potential.... OMG...

I don't need to see a savior......I need someone who ain't gonna lead us to purgatory..... Quick - 1 pass attempt -----> 1 interception The coach benched his azz and never brought him back in. Say what you want, but that speaks volumes. And once again, anytime you are comparing a redshirt freshman to a senior, and you have the redshirt freshman ahead in certain aspects.......THAT'S A GLARING INDICTMENT ON THE SENIOR. We need to stop looking at Raynard like he's supposed to be a finished product as a redshirt freshman. With every single flaw you see with him, HE HAS 3 MORE YEARS TO GET BETTER. Quick is in his 4th year......ain't no more growth going on with him as a QB. What you've seen is what you're gonna get.

raynard is a "below 50%" passer and is a "zero threat" to run the ball. every year you people call for the backup qb, so next year you'll be calling for raynard's backup, never fails.
bottom line? neither of our qb's are above average qb's, period. raynard completes less than 50% of his passes and is no threat to run the ball which puts even more pressure on "cohen". quick also completes less than 50% of his passes, but at least he's a threat to run the ball thereby taking some of the pressure off of cohen.
the 2 qb system is the best system for this team this year. every year you people throw the starting qb under the bus, no different this year. raynard might as well be prepared to look over his shoulder next season if its left up to the fans...

I think you are speaking more out of emotion than anything else..... When the Kindle/Quick controversy was going on, it was because Kindle was very erratic on and off the field. He made some bad decisions. When people were clamoring for Quick in his place, it wasn't because Quick was Michael Vick or Tom Brady; just like Quick----Kindle was a senior making mistakes that seniors had no business making. Fast forward to now. The only pass Quick made on Saturday was a completion......TO THE OTHER TEAM. He doesn't see the field well at all. He hangs on to the ball for too long. He makes freshman mistakes .....but he's a senior. Raynard simply can pass the ball better. He has better poise and presence in the pocket. He's no finished product......but he's clearly a better option already at QB than Quick. This isn't an emotional appeal for every 2nd-string QB to get a chance to start. I just want the best QB to start. I want the best WRs to start. I want the best punter to start. For every position on the field, I want the best person to start. OSA - just answer 1 question for me.... If Quick has truly matured as a QB, why is Broadway still opting to run a 2-QB system, splitting time between a senior and a RS freshman?

Yes that 3-3-5 is a very aggressive defense flexible defense that allows you a lot of options if you have the right linebackers and two hybrid linebacker strong safety types that can play the Spur and Bandit positions a long with your 3 D lineman !
