Coaching loses the game for UNC...PERIOD. You got Hood killing their defense and each time he gets you in the redzone, you turn the ball over trying to be cute. Reminded me of us last year on 11/22/2014 in Durham. I agree UNC was clearly the better team and probably should have won by at least 14 pts. We're going to have our hands full with Hood and the big wr Bugs.

Hood had 12 carries for 131 yards. But their loss...now they'll come out and try to hang a hundred on us next week.

From what I saw last night, do whatever it takes to stop the run. Now granted, Bug Howard is lethal as a WR.....but Williams is far from a solid passer. We have to make our game vs UNC as much about Marquise Williams as possible. He wilted under the pressure last night. Hell, there were times when USC's defense didn't apply pressure and he was flat-out missing receivers.
I'm cool with Williams passing for 300+ yards vs us.....if he can. I just don't want to see multiple UNC RBs with 100-150 yards on us. Make the weakest link beat you....Williams is clearly that.

That is what happens when you try to make a dual threat quarterback into a pocket passer. William was out of his element standing in the pocket. Trust me the Williams we will see will be the old one from last year, He may just run for 100 yards on us. Trust me UNC will bring back the old Williams!! we need to not only prepare for Hood and the other Carolina running backs and be prepared for Williams to run more !¡!!

I agree he can run and is a bruiser but he is not an accurate passer even without major pressure

I admit, the kid Williams had a bad game. Still, it doesn't mean the same will occur next Saturday. We have to prepare for him having a good game and UNC clicking on all cylinders. We have to be ready to play to make it interesting!

UNC will come out trying to make a statement, we just have to reply with a statement of our own!

Hey everyone, I come in peace. I just wanted to come here and wish you all the best of luck next week. While obviously I want Carolina to win, I want it to be fun for everyone. When you come into Chapel Hill, you can obviously park at the park & ride lots and catch a bus to Kenan Stadium. If you're looking to tailgate, there are parking decks around Chapel Hill. There are 2 on Rosemary which runs behind Franklin Street. To get here, coming from I-40 you'll get off at the 15/501 exit (signs for Kenan Stadium, Dean Smith Center, Duke University) and head to Chapel Hill. You'll veer to the right for Franklin Street. Once you go through downtown Chapel Hill, turn right at the light onto Columbia, then instantly right onto Rosemary. You can tailgate in either of these decks. Then to get to Kenan Stadium, just follow the crowd through campus. I think it's about a mile walk but it's all in the shade, no hills, through campus. There are also several on Manning Drive which is where the hospitals are. Follow above directions to get on 15/501. Then you'll turn right onto Manning Dr. from there. Follow signs for Dean Smith Center and hospitals. You'll pass the lots as you go up Manning. The lots in front of the hospitals are public lots. From there, just walk across the street and up the hill to Kenan Stadium. All lots you park in are going to be $20. These are owned and operated by the Town of Chapel Hill, not UNC. If you tailgate in a parking deck and have an open flame, you must be on the top floor. No open flames allowed on lower levels. There are some great places to eat on Franklin Street. Suttons is a local favorite and is cheap. It's a drug store with food in the back. It's a soda jerk originated in the 20s and is still hoppin'! As someone mentioned, the visitors side is directly in the sun. However with this being a night game it won't be that important. You will have an hour or so in the direct sun so be prepared to be hot for a little while. The isles are very tight and cramped so be prepared for that. No leg room at all. As far as your cowbells, as long as you're in your section you should be good. Usually the ushers don't bother you unless someone complains. I don't think anyone would complain on their own fanbase and UNC fans typically don't complain about other fans unless they're just being down right obnoxious. (NC State fans, Maryland fans, etc) Our game vs South Carolina honestly isn't anything to judge us on. It was the first game of the season and without preseason everyone has jitterrs. M. Williams had a poor game but I think things will change by next game. If not, Mitch Trubisky will be in and he is VERY accurate on his throw. Elijah Hood is definitely who you have to watch out for on the running game though. On our passing game Bug Howard is very good as well. However one name I haven't seen mentioned here that you guys absolutely cannot overlook, is Ryan Switzer. The kid is greased lightning. In his freshman year, he had 5 punt returns for touchdowns, tying an NCAA record. That doesn't count the returns he had that were sent back with flags. He also plays WR and if you can get the ball within 5 yards of him, he's catching it. Be on the watch for him. I hope those of you coming to the game have a great time and enjoy your day in Chapel Hill. I always scout opponents boards before games so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll be here until Friday evening. Good luck, and Go Heels! +tek

Against a Blitz package the TE is always the best option if you have one that can get off the line quick. it takes too much time to swing the back out, also a jet sweep is good against a blitz package. As Broadway said we are too predictable using the TE opens up more options and holds the linebackers thereby opening up plays for the running backs to exploit creases in the defense. if we are not Bold enough to use all of our weapons we are certain to get big azz beat down. but we have to be willing to take a chance and do the opposite/ unexpected then what the defense thinks we're going to do. if you look at all of our game films from last year you will see that the TE is mainly a blocker now if the tight end blocks and slow release to the open part of the field or quick releases off the line that is something they will not be expecting. You have to understand that if they load up and blitz that leaves the receivers one on one with the speed we have we have a 50-50 chance. now throw the TE into the equation after the receiver has around the corners off, that leaves a lot of space to work in ! I don't think they have a linebacker that can stay with a good tight end 1 on 1. Making those kind of reads will be a lot to expect from a red shirt freshman qb with a questionable offensive line. We better keep things as simple as possible and just try to slow the game down. If Reynard is as good as they say he is he will make those throws!

The question was who she would cheer for. “In North Carolina, you’re either Carolina or you’re Duke. I root for Carolina,” said Slade, a freshman at A&T. “A lot of my friends have been huge Carolina fans all their lives too, but we go to A&T, so we really don’t know who to pull for.” As game day draws nearer, the student hype has escalated as the Aggies prepare to take on the Tar Heels at 6 p.m. at Kenan Stadium, making history for A&T’s football program. The game is only the third time the Aggies will have faced an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision team in its 92 years of football. It's the first time A&T will play either of the state's two ACC public universities. “This game has been all anyone can talk about,” A&T senior Avery Rogers said. “To be an HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) team playing a big time school like UNC is just crazy.” The Aggies, who compete in the Football Championship Subdivision, have played two FBS teams in the past, losing to Wake Forest in 2004 and La.-Lafayette in 2006. “I probably won’t figure out what this game really means to us until after we’ve done it,” A&T athletics director Earl Hilton said. “It’s definitely an exciting opportunity for our young men, but what does it mean to us? That’s a tough one to answer now.” For A&T’s 8,900-undergraduate student body, it means a chance to show off their blue and gold. After the Aggies won their opening game against Shaw in a blowout 61-7, A&T sophomore Montavious Hunter said he couldn’t wait to see what A&T can do against UNC. “Everyone here is just so hyped up about the game. It's UNC-Chapel Hill, what's not to be excited about?” Hunter said. “UNC did some big things last year, so it’ll be exciting to see what happens.” Although A&T is not organizing any student spectator buses to the event, Hunter is one of many students who will make the 50-mile trek down I-40 to attend the game. A&T says it only sold just more than 250 tickets from its allotment of 2,350 that Carolina provided. But UNC officials are expecting to see more Aggies fans. “We have had a lot of their people order through us,” said Tim Sabo, the UNC assistant athletics director for ticket operations. “There’s been a lot of interest at our window and over the phone.” But how many Aggies fans remains to be seen. “We expect to have a decent amount of folks there for the game. Honestly, right now, I don’t know if that means hundreds or thousands,” Hilton said. “We don’t know what to expect.” The A&T band will perform at the game and the Aggie Athletics Foundation is is co-sponsoring a reception with the university’s Office of Alumni Relations at Champps Kitchen+Bar in Durham before the game from 2 to 4 p.m. “The fact that our football team is going down to Chapel Hill means a lot of extra exposure for our university,” said Teresa Davis, president of the Aggie Athletics Foundation. “It’s a chance for our team to play on that (higher) level and show off how talented our athletes are. It’s going to be a very exciting day for A&T.”

The game against North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday is an opportunity to find out. But is the opportunity coming a year too late? A&T is a program on the rise. Just look at the records. The Aggies were 1-10 the year before Broadway arrived. They were 9-3 and shared the MEAC title last year, and they were a couple of bad breaks away from 11-1. The Aggies have been building, and building, and building. And this year — for the first time in a long time — they’re rebuilding, forced to replace more than just a couple of talented seniors lost from the previous season. They made it look easy against Division II Shaw, clobbering a team they were supposed to clobber. But now comes North Carolina, an FBS program that will be heavily favored. For while A&T was beating Shaw 61-7, six other MEAC teams were losing to FBS teams by an average of 50.2 points. “There’s more separation between us and Carolina,” Broadway said, “than there is between us and Shaw.” Making it even tougher is playing this game in Week 2, while the Aggies are still finding their way without: •Middle linebacker D’Vonte Grant, a do-it-all four-year starter who finished with 362 tackles — second all-time at A&T — 44 tackles for losses, 8.5 sacks and nine interceptions. •Wide receiver Desmond Lawrence, an NCAA sprinter who led the team with 42 catches and was among the final players cut by the Cincinnati Bengals. •Cornerback Donald Mattocks, an FBS All-American who was second in the nation with seven interceptions last year. •Two All-MEAC offensive linemen — guard William Ray Robinson, who had an NFL tryout with Washington, and center R.J. Canty, a fifth-year player and three-year starter. The linemen could be the toughest to replace. Of the 10 players on A&T’s two-deep chart, four are freshmen and three are sophomores. “I don’t know if our big guys are as fast as their big guys,” Broadway said. “Our skill guys can run with them. But they may be too strong for us physically and run too fast up front.” The Aggies are fast. Running back Tarik Cohen, who shared MEAC offensive player of the year honors last season, runs a 4.3-second 40-yard dash. Wide receiver Caleb Gabriel was the MEAC track champion in the 100 meters. Defensive backs Tony McRae and Jerome Beatty can match Cohen’s footspeed. But is this group as fast as last year’s? “We’re close. We still have some guys who can run,” Broadway said. “We lost Dez, but Gabriel is about as fast as Dez. Thing is, we had Dez and Gabriel together last year. Overall, we’re a pretty fast football team. But let’s play a couple of games and see where we are, see if we can play as fast as we run. Because a lot of times, teams that run well don’t play fast. It’s about more than straight-ahead speed.” One game into the season, there is no replacing Grant, the tackling machine in the middle of the defense. Landis Shoffner, a senior from Grimsley, had one more tackle than Grant last year. And Denzel Jones, a senior from Dudley, is the vocal leader of the linebackers. “One guy won’t replace D’Vonte Grant,” Broadway said. “We’ll have to do it with a couple of different guys because no one has really stepped forward yet and said, ‘This is my position.’ Sometimes it seems like they’re still waiting for D’Vonte to come back. We’ll miss him tremendously.” Ready or not, two weeks into the season, the game will go on. A&T will be an underdog on the road, a team still searching for its identity this season as it plays an opponent from a big-time league. “It’s just another game. It’s a big game, yes, but it’s just another game,” Broadway said. “I don’t think our guys will be in awe. We’re not going there scared. We’ll go down and fight. “It’s going to be a tough matchup on both sides of the ball because we’re overmatched. That’s just me being frank and honest. But I’m anxious to see how we compete against those guys. I’ll say this ... We have a team that likes to be challenged. And this is as big a challenge as we’ll ever have this season.” Contact Jeff Mills at (336) 373-7024, and follow @jeffmillsnr on Twitter.
