Instead of trying to minimize all the accomplishments of the players and coaches on this year's team, why not just tip your hat to Central for playing better than us in this one particular game. But do you honestly think that NCCU or any other team in the MEAC has a better overall program than A&T right now? Would you honestly want to trade Broadway for any other HBCU coach right now? I know I wouldn't. Aggie football definitely has room for improvement, and based on Broadway's track record there's no reason to believe it won't continue to make those improvements. We have come lights years since the days of Alonzo Lee, Lee Fobbs, George Small and yes, even Bill Hayes. Next year A&T will be favored in all but two contests - UNC and Coastal Carolina. And depending on who Coastal has coming back, that game might even be a toss up. So the 2-game contract with Coastal Carolina has been renewed?? (I hope that is true!)

I don't think anybody has commented on the o-line play. Quick was harassed all game. Not too much he could do under those circumstances. Central won that battle and won the game. They kicked our behinds. I'm shocked really. I felt like Broadway wouldn't lose to his old employer. But watching the game, they were drilling our lines. They came to play and had the horses to do it. Hoping we learned a valuable lesson for the future. All in all, just a disappointing end to a good season We had 49 run plays and 22 pass attempts. 49 carries, 307 yards, 2 TDs (and one big fumble at the NCCU 1-yard line) 13-22, 78 yards, O TD, O INTs; Quick was sacked 4 times for 28 yards. NCCU did a good job of sending an edge rusher backside to pursue Quick when he rolled left because he tends to be indecisive when then reads aren't there. I'm not sure if that would be on Cole at RT or the RB to account for that. We didn't roll left much in the 2nd half. I will say that NCCU's secondary should probably get most of the credit for the sacks.... they did a good job in coverage on our WRs. Keyes has to come down with that ball in the 4th quarter, though. There were some blocks missed, no doubt. But to say that the OL didn't do enough to win on the road.... don't know that I can say that.... not when you pile up 300 yards rushing. And it wasn't like NCCU had OLs getting to our second level of defense... they were too busy holding onto our guys..... Our second level of defense just really wasn't there due to some less-than-stellar play at LB. Better preparation, killer instinct. That's what it's about starting now.

We only have 11 games next year. I think Coastal is not on the schedule for next year since we have Elon and UNC on the road This post is correct. The next year we can play 12 games is 2019 (it is based on the number of Saturdays between Labor Day & Thanksgiving). We know for sure that we are away again at Elon and at UNC in 2015. Our 3rd OOC game will most certainly be in Aggieland because if not, it would mean only 4 home games vs. the MEAC. I can't see our AD letting that occur. Bethune-Cookman & Norfolk State return to our schedule next year. I can't remember what two schools drop off for the next two years.

Games are won on the field. We loss. The guys had a good season and are meac co champs. I'm waiting to see how many people start calling for our coaches heads to be cut off after two 7-4 seasons and a 9-3 season while becoming MEAC co Champs lol keep ya head up fellas. We're heading in the right direction. As for the fans, get your Aggie specialty mixed drink ready and let the pain ease itself away....... we have time till spring practice to talk about how we know more than the winning season coaches do. #MEACcoCHAMPS2014 #AGGIEPRIDE #GEAUXWBB #WESTILLA&TREGARDLESS Yes! We can only play who is on our schedule. Finishing 9 - 3 is a great accomplishment regardless of the competition we faced. Football is football. We lost 3 games by a total of 21 points! We are right there! Our homecoming game has sold out two years in a row (really 3). Our student athletes are excelling in the classroom. We are co-champions of the MEAC in 2014!

Interesting stat:
In the 9 wins, the defense allowed 105.4 rushing ypg In the 3 losses, the defense allowed 208.0 rushing ypg
Room for improvement and competition all the way around for 2015.

Hilton was on the FCS selection committee...he was in the decision room; he saw firsthand how and what people think about who should and shouldn't get in. He saw the MEAC only get the AQ bid. After seeing all of this, he has to change what we do as a program:
-no more DII/NAIA games. FCS football has gotten too good to where we have any business dabbling around, playing subpar/sublevel competition -Even though the UNC game sounds nice and we get a nice paycheck, does it really help us on the FCS landscape? I'd be on the phone trying to schedule a home-and-home series with Liberty right now. Lynchburg, VA is not even 2 hours away from Greensboro. Get a deal done immediately!!!
With all of that said, if we schedule such games, will our staff and team be ready to step up to the challenge?? It's good to schedule quality competition.......but sooner or later, you have to beat quality competition. And even with all of that being said, we have to perform better against better teams in our own conference. We honestly had only 3 important MEAC games this year ---- we went 1-2; when you factor that in with no significant OOC wins, you're not going to be viewed favorably.
We need to fine tune a few things if we are to get better as a program.....

FBS schools have been playing 12 games regardless of calendar for years. Is this because of the FCS playoff schedule? Or are they able to get waivers that we aren't able to use in FCS?

“I am proud of our guys,” said Broadway. “To win nine football games at this time, at this university, with the things we had to overcome; I’m proud of them. To be co-champions is not that bad, but it’s not as good as being champion.”
Get the jewelry for the team Coach. The show is just starting. If we are finding players like Cohen, then we will trend up.
Congrats to the Seniors!

What we all wanted to happen on Saturday didn't happen and is now in the Aggies sports history books. I am happy that we had a winning team to follow all season with a chance for extended play. It was great feeling like we are at a point wher we expect to win games versus hoping to win. I'm like most of us here, that are feeling real good about our future. Thanks to the football team and staff for their great efforts and the 9 and 3 outcome.

I don't think anybody has commented on the o-line play. The thing that no one is mentioning is our kicking game. That was abysmal yesterday. A missed field goal, a fumbled punt return and several shanked punts. If Broadway wants to make any wholesale changes with the program, he should start with changing his philosophy about special teams. It has never been really good since he's been here and against NCCU is was brutal. We need to find a consistent place kicker and punter. and maybe a new punt returner. No. 8 scares the daylights out of me every time he is back there.

However, since I didn't see every game, my view may be disadvantaged.

That's football.... we should be thankful that Cody could still do both. Gardin is a speedster... he won that job outright. The muff came at the worst time, and our gunners didn't do a good job all day. That will gnaw at Gardin all off-season. It's an area for improvement for us in 2015.

Under a standard provision of NCAA rules, all FCS programs were allowed to play 12 regular-season games (not counting conference title games) in 2014. In years when the period starting with the Thursday before Labor Day and ending with the final Saturday in November contains 14 Saturdays, FCS programs may play 12 games instead of the regular 11. After this season, the next season in which 12-game seasons are allowed will be 2019.

I forgot to comment about special teams. I was shocked when we missed the field goal. Wasn't he perfect up to that point on field goals?
While the run blocking was solid, the pass blocking was hot garbage. It's why we had so many rushing yards and rushes by the qb. I give Quick credit. His line wasn't holding up long enough for him to set up to pass. He got tired of getting sacked so he started running. How many of his 23 rushes were designed qb runs? I'm betting well under 10.
I don't know whether central was holding or not, but I do know if we couldn't play through it this week, whoever we saw in the playoffs next week would've had a field day. Hbcus have a long history of claiming we were held in playoff games.
As far as scheduling, it's not the out of conference games that are hurting us. I'll leave it at that.

A&T football players are the ones who missed out on being sole MEAC Champions so they have to be kicking themselves and feeling real bad about this missed opportunity. I try not to be Polly Ann-ish about the loss yesterday but the Aggies are still MEAC champions albeit co-champions. At the beginning of the season I thought that A&T had a good chance of being a co-champion, tying Bethune Cookman. I wasn't sure if A&T could be sole champion and I definitely didn't think there would be 5!! co-champions.
Is there a better than 50% chance that A&T could be chosen for an at-large bid to the NCAA playoffs?
