Zero upside vs. huge potential for a freak injury that could derail our entire season.
Give the backup running backs some reps against Chowan and take advantage of the opportunity to work out the kinks with the passing game.
But keep your franchise back on the sideline wearing a T-shirt and just let him get ready for conference play.

10 carries max.
Of course, if the game is somehow close and we need him, all that is out the window.

Ten was my magic number as well. 10 rushes or 100 yards, whichever comes first. These kids want to play and practice hard all week for that opportunity.

I think he would like to get about 12 carries and 140 yds. He is trying to lead the league in rushing that is one of his goal beside winning the MEAC and Div1-AA tourney.

First things first. We need to put Chowan away early and often then our second line backfield can get all the work they can stand as well as all the freshmen (red shirts and true) we have playing in our secondary. A&T is the superior team in every regard so we need to be on a mission to impose our will from the opening kickoff and leave nothing but scorched earth in our wake.

I don't want to see Cohen until the team travels to DC to play Howard. It makes no sense to have him out there. The only time I'd have him out there is if we go into the 4th qtr and the game is tight. Other than that, he needs to be sitting beside me in the stands, watching the team play.
What I want to see this Saturday: -60% of all the plays run on offense should be pass plays. I wanna see both Quick and Klugh tossing the ball around the field so they can get a better feel for their WRs in real game action.
-I want to see the defense use more blitz packages. Although the defense played well on Saturday, I still think we aren't pressuring opposing QBs enough.
-I want this to be the last time I see non-FCS competition at Aggie Stadium. No more VULs; no more Chowan's; no more WVSUs. We're too good of a program now to be wasting folks' time playing subpar competition at Aggie Stadium. Honestly, we'll be lucky if 8,000 folks show up Saturday.

that's a good one, 4xl! yeah, cohen needs to get a few reps just to keep his game in rhythm. injury is always a risk, but i'd like to see cohen maintain the rhythm that he's in. yeah, i'd say 10 to 12 carries max and then get him out of there...

Treat this contest like the 4th preseason game in the NFL. Let him stay on the sideline and get mental reps while allowing his body to rest up for the upcoming DC trip.
Remember, he almost suffered a nasty knee injury at the end of a long run against Elon last weekend. He also went down awkwardly against AAMU in the opener.
Luckily for us he was able to bounce back both times and not miss a beat. But why take any more unnecessary risks against the likes of Chowan?
When you a dealing with a running back Cohen's size you always have to be cognitive of the amount of punishment he is taking. Limit his exposure to contact when you can.

thrilla, you make a valid point. if cohen is nicked up with any lingering minor injuries, it may be wise to sit him out completely in this game unless he's needed to win the game. but if he's 90% or more healthy and doesn't risk aggravating anything, i'd still give him some carries against chowan...

Based on Thrilla's last post, I would hold him out unless needed.
