Broadway is rebuilding this program. Learning to win means you have to re-learn how to win the easy ones also. Everything involved in winning has to be re-taught. The approach to every game and everyting in between. From App. State to Chowan.

Re-learning how to win easy games.......we haven't had enough "Allen Iverson practice games" over the past few years? 3 games vs VUL; one game vs WVSU; now Chowan.
I'm cool with Broadway.......but c'mon, these games barely qualify as scrimmages.
I remember last year, people excused these games because many didn't think we were a playoff caliber team. I don't hear many people saying that now. Yet we're still scheduling Tomato Can University.
I'm telling you guys - scheduling such weak competition is gonna come back and haunt us one day.
I'm for Broadway, the staff, and the team.... ---I'll be in DC watching them go against Howard ---I'll be in the ATL watching them battle SCSU ----but I ain't going to Aggie Stadium this weekend to see this jive game
I'm not telling any Aggie to boycott this game - enjoy it if you go....but please don't post how great our QBs looked or how explosive the WRs looked vs Chowan. IT'S CHOWAN!! Their head coach works part time at Foot Locker.

Sometimes it is the easy ones on paper that you let slip away. I wouldn't expect Chowan or any other team to roll over, just as I wouldn't expect us to roll over playing App State.

From a season perspective, I just don't see how 1 game in Sept has that much impact on a team. Now, my issue is how MEAC conference play of 8 games does not prepare our champion to play effectively (i.e., win) in the playoffs.

NHSS... But you think it's OK for UNC to give us a shot. We're not even giving Chowan that kind of paper. But... We can say we gave them an opportunity

This game will also start some conversation with UNCC. They played them last year I believe.

Family, this team needs work and Coach knows it. Cohen had a 200+ yard game @ Elon and we slipped by them. Let's clear our heads and:
>Get the FG game going A&T. >Kick-off deeper. >Oil the wheels of the passing game. >Tighten up our punt return coverage.
We have to be 1-0 in the Conference after Howard.

Man, way too many of you guys spend too much time analyzing stuff. Chowan is on the schedule...they count as a legitimate game, they play in a local conference and we have a good team and should win the game. Will we move up in the "polls" if we beat them, will the FCS dislike us for playing a cream puff, will our critics complain about us playing them? I don't know and I don't care. They are on the schedule and that's it. I'll be there Saturday night as always to cheer on my Aggies. I hope the rest of you show up too. Oh and wear your Aggie Gold to show your support!

i think coach broadway would've played this game on opening day had we not gotten pulled into the meac/swac challenge. i think sometimes our folk are more concern about the entertainment factor rather than what's best for our team. the coaches don't schedule these kind of games just because they want an easy win. those of you who have ever coached before (regardless of which sport) know that its difficult to give your reserves the extended playing time that they need to develop themselves if every game you play is a very close game or against superior competition. most coaches are not gonna put "inexperienced" players into close ball games if they don't have to, particularly at the skilled positions. look at what happened last year when coach broadway was forced to play an inexperienced freshman center against dsu? we had a ton of botched snaps that pretty much cost us the game.
to me, let the coaches coach and the players play, and fans need to stop worrying so much about who we play. i'm confident that our coaches know what they're doing...

Exactly! I look at it from App State's point of view last year. They put us on the schedule not because it would help them in the FCS polls, but to gain an "easy" win in their eyes to gain momentum for their season. And their fans showed up to the game as if they were playing Furman. Scheduling is very important when it comes to championship caliber teams. Overall, we need to take care of business in the MEAC and the rest will take care of itself.
