hey, in past years i often complained about a&t doing things on the cheap so much. but now, seeing what famu and scsu are going thru, doing things on the cheap may have preserved our fiscal standing. i’m not advocating that we do things on the cheap, but at least (to the best of my knowledge) we’re not running up the kind of deficits that scsu and famu currently are. nonetheless, getting back to football, i’m really very concerned with our qb position. having seen foster (the juco transfer) with my very own eyes at the spring game, it clearly appeared to me that quick is further ahead at running the offense than foster was “at that time”. i don’t know where the 2 qb’s stand as of today. but it didn’t appear to me that foster is gonna be an “instant success” just yet. knowing very little about the qb competition as of today, i’m leaning toward quick starting the season as our starter unless foster or klough steps up big time during training camp. clearly the qb competition is my #1 concern going into camp. i think over time, foster will adjust to fcs level football. but from what i saw during the spring game, i think the starting job (based on the spring game) is quick’s job to lose. oh, and by the way! i’m campaigning to move dez lawrence to the running back position! we’ve got to put the ball in his hands a lot more often than we did last season. he played rb in high school, so its not a new position for him to learn. i can see why the coaches want his “speed” at the wr position as a deep threat. but he needs more touches than he’s getting at wr. bigboy is right though. this could be the most exciting season we've seen in greensboro since the bill hayes days. we're going into coach broadway's 4th season in aggieland. this will be his 3rd official recruiting class since he's been here. this program is now coach broadway's program! meaning, most of the previous regime's recruits have graduated and "pretty much" all of the guys we have now are coach broadway's recruits. so "in my eyes", this is the first year that it feels like this year's team was totally built by coach broadway... OSA.. what's going on? Yep... can't spend money you don't have.... I'm not as concerned about QB because of the work that was put in at spring practice and in the offseason.... not the mention the upgrade in quality and depth of the overall team around the QB position. Let Quick and Foster fight it out.... competition brings out the best. The youngsters on the OL getting to hold their own this spring against arguably the best front 7 in the MEAC without our top two OL..... priceless experience. That Blue Death pass rush was noticeably improved in the spring game compared to last season... with more depth. No more prevent defense in the 4th quarter.... we can come after QBs with 4 rushers for 60+ minutes.... that's a trademark of championship-caliber teams. With Klugh being an engineering major and Quick/Foster in a battle of juniors for the starting job, I would be surprised/disappointed if Klugh is not redshirted this year.... that would be a win for his academics and maximize his eligibility.... even Michael Vick redshirted at VA Tech. D. Lawrence needs to stay at WR right where he is, IMHO. He'll still get touches in the run game just like this past season. But for him to have any shot at the NFL... he needs to continue developing as a WR/KR and hopefully have a big year. There's no true senior class, but I agree....three solid recruiting classes have this team really being Coach Broadway's guys. So after going 19-14 in the first 3 years (a remarkable feat on its own given the circumstances), this is really the first year where we can truly evaluate where the program is at. I'm going to try and get to Orlando and ATL... if I can pull off Orlando, I should be in attendance for 9 of 12 games. I'm really looking forward to this season!

I hope Quick will step up and take over the QB position this year. He has quietly played his role as back up to Kindle for two years but his time is now. He looked shakey last year standing in the pocket finding receivers but I hope he's ready this year. Aftertwo years on the team he "should" know the playbook better than the new guys but knowing ain't performing. If he has learned to throw an accurate pass to go with his quick feet we will rule the MEAC this year.
I agree...this is all coach broadway's team and I'm eager to see it excell. There's just one other thing that worries me...every year before the first game we get "snake bite" by some bad luck. Runners go down, our starting QB is suspended, a star player fails a summer school class or something. So I've got my fingers crossed.
It's been a very long time since we have had a powerhouse team at A&T and I hope this is our year!

I think Kindle was the king of bad luck and questionable decision-making.... 2010: ACL tear trying to make a play on a turnover in practice (?) 2012: Suspended 2013: Suspended Tarik Cohen is still the man at RB, but Daniel Robinson looked pretty good in the spring, and we're expecting a lot out of Marquell Cartwright coming in the door. With the unfortunate situation of the player who was killed, I think the ship is tighter and the players will be a bit more conscious of not making the wrong decisions. Still, you pray for the best...

Please work on the special teams. That App St game spoiled me. Also I cannot wait to see the linebackers. I want the defense to score again. Oleschoolaggie has gotten me going!

groove, i just can't deal with that orlando "heat" at noon time in the day. i completely sweated thru my clothes when we played coastal carolina in similar heat at myrtle beach 2 years ago. so i know i can't last in orlando. if they'd play the game at 6pm or later, i'd be there in a heartbeat. but i just can't deal with those steaming orlando temperatures at 12 noon in the day...

Same here...can't take that heat in my old age. I'm sure we will take care of business but I hate I will miss it.

I will be there as well. It may have more to do with the TV slot.
My vote is for Foster. I want a QB who is a natural in the Pocket. Who can get the short passes(soft touch) to the receiver inside the interior of the defense or underneath the defense. Plus I like Foster work ethics I am sure it is inspiring the other QB to work just as hard when they see Foster putting in the work to get better.

i find coach broadway to be a very intelligent and articulate man. but he's gawd awful at reading that advertisement announcement! its very "obvious" he's reading what he's saying. i get the impression that coach broadway isn't having fun doing those promotions...

I dont care who we have in the back field offensively. I happen to agree with AGGIE ONE we are only going to be as good as the QB getting the ball to the players at the right time and at the right place.
It really comes down to that. I think Broadway realize that by going out to Calf. recruiting a Jrco just in case he is not satisfied with the current QBs he have.

I agree trues. Until we have a consistently effective QB, skilled players and overall offensive performance will be satisfactory at best.

I feel that Hasson Klugh Fr. will end up being one of the best QB's we have had here in a long time. He may be red-shirted his first year but I hope he is not because he may end up getting playing time this year if the other QB's are not getting the job done. He was really good in high school. It really does not matter to me who it is but one of the QB's have to step up and step up big time.
