i never said you did either. I was making the point that we can have the best RBs and OLs in the nation but until we can get a high quality QB that can deliver the ball consistently we will never be in the Top 3 its just opinion
I saw in a preseason poll where they have us #5.
Beutheune SC State Deleware Howard A&T

I don't care where the preseason polls rate us...I know we are better than that. Let's hope the rest of the league thinks we are as low as number five in the MEAC. Maybe they will overlook us when we play them.
I think we had most of the pieces in place last year to be a much better team than our record showed but we did have some limitations at the QB position. All us die-hard A&T football fans knew we had some QB challenges and so did our opponents. Hopefully this season we have found at least one QB that is mobile, makes good decisions and can throw an accurate pass. Oh and can do all that at the same time! If we find that QB, I don't think anyone in the MEAC can stop us.

Yes QB was some what of a problem last year but to me it was more so the Defense. We have too get a better Rush up front. I just beleave that Defense win championships . The D let us down in a few games that we should have won so I'm more focused on the D-line and D-backs. We lost two good ones u no.

I hope that does not be the case and he learn under some veteran QBs get red shirted like you said and we get 4 good years out of him. What is going to be interesting is 2015 come around will Klugh, Foster or Quick get the starting job. I hope God allows me to live that long to see the results.
Can you imaging having Klugh and Cohen(Cohen is already a stater) as the starters together one day on A&T team WOW!!!!!!

So not only does he have the physical tools but he is most likely mentally prepared and equipped for the job.....don't think he came to A&T to sit on the bench! What about other QB from HP (forget his name)....what do you folks think about him?

nice! btw, the meac leads the meac/swac challenge 7 games to the swac's 2. so the pressure is on coach broadway and our guys to maintain the meac's dominance over the swac...

The QB from Andrews is Leymar Raynard (6-6,192) and he has a cold blooded demeanor about him in tough clutch situations and a howitzer for an arm. He prefers to be red shirted.
Do not overlook him. This kid is an excellent student and high character young man who can flat play and shows up every single game, week in and week out.

This time of year I start to get nervous. What piece of bad news is waiting to come out of Greensboro to screw up our season? What player got caught doing something stupid and will be suspended or who failed a course and is inegilble or who pulls a hamstring in a pick up basketball game and is out for the season. Yeah, I know I shouldn't worry about this stuff but this season has the "potential"to be outstanding for us and I don't want anything screwing it up. Anyone got an extra rabbit foot?

I missed that about your brother-in-law earlier. I'm with you on the 4th quarter defense. Despite the struggles of the offense, we lost to Morgan, Hampton and almost lost to FAMU because of things like having to go to 3-DL prevent defenses and not getting pressure. When I talked to Coach Washington prior to spring ball, he mentioned the very same thing, and that the pass rush would be a point of emphasis this year. Well.... based on what I saw in spring practice, we have improved a good bit in ability and depth, particularly at the DE spot. Angelo Keyes is listed at LB on the roster, but played pretty well at DE during the spring game. D'Anthony Ross didn't get much run as a true freshman last year, but he also looked good at the DE spot in the spring game. Both each got a sack in that game and looked a bit more physically imposing than what we're used to at DE, IMO. Going along with Daniel Pinnix (led the team with 7 sacks) and Malik Hampton-Prioleau coming back... I think we'll see more 4-man fronts in the 4th. The biggest difference-maker might end up being Marquis Ragland, who may be the best athlete on the entire DL. It sounds like he could line up at DT and possibly at DE, and wreak havoc from both spots. Our returning DTs were solid last year.... I am curious to see if Julian McKnight, the all-state DT recruit from Georgia, will play as a true freshman or redshirt. Last year, the defense had 28 sacks, 11 INTs and recovered 10 fumbles. I suspect a good chunk of those numbers were in the 1st 3 quarters of our games. With D'Vonte Grant returning at LB... we have a really good shot at stepping up the pressure on defense this year. But you never know until the season starts... We'll see...
