I don’t expect important decisions like this to play out publicly. Obviously, there are legal and practical considerations. It’s best to keep things close to the vest. However, there was no engagement with the university’s most ardent supporters. There’s a way to share your vision and priorities about conference alignment with your boosters. Neither Earl or Martin did that in this case. That’s a slap in my face and all of our faces!

A closely placed source said that it is definitely an agenda item!

Honestly, there is nothing about the Big South that I find appealing. I feel the same way about the Group of 5 conferences in Div I. I don’t want to be reactionary, but I just don’t see myself supporting A&T athletics to the same extent. As flawed as the MEAC is I prefer it to the Big South.

Hate to sound racist but, the white ref was doing us in big time. I’m not understanding. Is it because Bethune’s coach is white? This makes no sense!

Nice to see the running game clicking again. Can’t help but be impressed by Fowler. Kylil should absolutely remain the starter, but Fowler looks ready!

ACC or SEC? It’s hard for me to decide which conference is the best fit. They’re good arguments either way. I will just sit back and let Earl and Chancellor Martin handle it.

Does Coach Joyner value the ability to shoot the ball? I only ask because we seem to recruit players who are good at some things, but shooting the ball aint one of them. Our FG%, FT% and 3PT% are god awful. Some of that could be down to the other teams’ defenses, but we miss so many wide open shots and free throws.

Third and 10 ... clear passing down ... you have your best shutdown corner guarding the opposing team's best WR ... and this is the defense you draw up? Help me out here. Why are we telling Mac to give that much cushion to the Morgan wideout? Spoiler alert: Morgan took the slant route that we were begging them to take with this alignment and converted the first down. We don’t have a shutdown corner at the moment. Mac will hopefully recover his pre-injury form. But, he’s not there just yet.

The defense played well enough. By no means did they have a great game, but it should’ve been enough for a win. Our defenders play for turnovers, but forget to make the basic play first. I lost count of the number of missed tackles because we were trying to strip the ball. Also, the DBs gave up completions trying to break on balls and take it to the house. Offensively we were a mess! Those of us who sat through the cold and watched it should be forgiven for any “overreaction.”

I don’t know what to think. I know that I will be there to see it. I hope the band, cheerleaders and fans can help lift the team to a fast start. We come out flat too often.
