Just to clarify, I am not comparing Broadway's entire program to Lee's program.
I am stating that Broadway has not improved the quarterback position inside this program one iota since replacing Alonzo Lee.
I think overall Broadway is a better coach and football CEO, and his staff is light years ahead of Alonzo Lee's staff. But when it comes to quarterbacks, thus far Lee was the better recruiter.
Why do I say that? Because the only legitimate quarterback we have on our roster was recruited by Alonzo Lee. Broadway has done NOTHING to improve the quarterback position since he replaced Lee.

What's the kid's name from Southern Durham H.S. QB that left due to grades or maybe transfer. His name skips my mind. He was suppose to be "the" QB this year and from what I am told he would have been a really good QB. Ilke I have stated in the past, Quick was not recruited as a QB but he does an okay job when he is in the lineup.

I'm sick of everybody saying that spring ball would have made a difference. Kindle has had 6 games and multiple practices to make up for spring ball. But instead of improving, he has regressed! And the sad thing about is that he is a 5th year senior!

Kindle has had 6 games and multiple practices to make up for spring ball. But instead of improving, he has regressed! And the sad thing about is that he is a 5th year senior! I must ask, is that Kindle's fault or our fault? I think some of it is on Kindle, but in the time he's been at A&T I'm not sure if he's had the same offense, offensive coordinator, or qb coach for more than two years in a row. I believe he was recruited by a different o.c. than the one he ended up with as a freshman, so he was sold a different bill of goods than he expected even before he got here. Honestly, if Kindle was even halfway what you cats expect him to be, it would be IN SPITE OF what he's received during his time playing for A&T. There, I said it. At this point I'm hoping that Bustle doesn't bolt after the season and the remaining qbs get the opportunity to undergo a few spring practices with him. We have got to have stability before we start expecting sparks to fly out of the azzes of the offensive unit.

I think the lack of leadership and the knack for getting himself suspended prior to the past two season openers is squarely on Kindle.
I think his poor on-field decision making and sloppy throwing mechanics is squarely on Broadway and the coaches he has hired to develop the quarterback position.
I think the fact that there is NOBODY on the roster that Broadway feels comfortable enough to sub Kindle when he is having a three-interception performance reflects a failure in recruiting and development of the quarterback position.

No one said it was easy and that's why not all HBCU coaches make $232K a year. I don't think anyone here is asking for our staff to recruit Taj Boyd or Johnny Manzel, but rather somebody who can be counted on the run or offense and complete a pass for more than 10 yards with some degree of consistency. For Broadway to not improve the quarterback position one single iota since he's been here, it has to be viewed as nothing short of a disappointment by most honest observers. Development-wise, Kindle is no better now than he was when Lee first recruited him. In a lot of ways, Kindle has regressed since that FAMU game his first year. But what is even more troublesome is that this staff has been unable to find or develop a suitable replacement in two and half years. Kindle is the best we have on the roster by a long shot and there is nothing that says we should expect a different outcome next year. i dunno, thrilla. i don't think its as simple as you make it out to be. in the 4 years kindle has played, he's had 3 different oc's and 3 different offenses. most qb's are more proficient when they know their offense inside out. this offense not only has a new oc, but this offense also didn't have a spring practice. i don't think its realistic to expect our offense to click on all cylinders as if we've been running the same offense 2 or 3 years in a row...

Clicking on all cylinders is one thing. Throwing for more than 20 yards and not giving the opposing team points on turnovers is another thing entirely.
You should at least be able to ask your 5th year senior quarterback to manage a game and not be the primary reason that your offense is struggling. Right now the only thing we can count on Kindle to do is hand the ball to Cohen and get out the way.
When we ask him to complete a forward pass all bets are off.

Belcher was recruited by Ball State, ECU, Western Carolina and even had some interest from NC State. It's not like we didn't beat out some other schools for his services. With Belcher, we would have had four QBs to choose from.
So things didn't work out as planned. We're making due with who we have.
To REALLY be competitive for a QB, we need some more scholarship funds to get more full-ride spots. Just sayin....

It could also be a situation where Kindle's grandfather didn't just suddenly pass, but has been dealing with illness for a while. There a WHOLE lot we just don't know (and probably shouldn't know) about folks' personal situations within any team. It's OK to have expectations, but not to go overboard when we don't have the full picture.

Also how can you not trust the TE if you never throw the ball his way ?? We're talkin' 'bout practice, man!!! That said, some cats are terrible in practice, but make it happen on gameday. You should shoot Coach Bustle an e-mail and request that he add a QB bootleg to the TE for HC...the worst he can tell you is no..

In my opinion, his best season was his first season under Pizzo. I think his main receiver (Miles) had alot to do with it but, it was his best season. But, he doesn't trust what he sees and he will bail out on the play. The SCSU game, if he had just settled in the pocket he would've had plenty of time to complete his throws...but, he chose to escape and run for his life all day. A good qb keeps his eyes downfield and regardless of the rush. If a qb is willing to do that then, an offensive coordinator can work with that because, he can skeem the protection. But, if you are gonna bail out the pocket at first sight of trouble then the o.c. will have trouble finding plays in the passing game for you. They can design roll outs that's about it.

Please stop bringing up Belcher's name if he is no longer a member of the program or even in school. You don't get partial credit for recruiting players who never take the field.
If that was the case, Lee Fobbs and Alonzo Lee would have had allstar teams.

I believe we are stuck with Kindle for the rest of this season so we might as well get use to it. I know it is frustrating to watch all those interceptions but there is no need to get your blood pressure up worrying about a situation that is out of our control. Let's just hope that Kindle's next 4 games are better than the last 6 games that he started.

Well Kindle will have 2 games where he will not have any problems. We will need him big time against Morgan and NCCU

I think there are three reason Kindle isn't having a great season this year: 1. No Wallace Miles 2.Opponents game-plan for his limitations 3.Our new offense. As ohsixrain brought up, I think Miles just caught everything thrown his way...good or bad passes. So Kindle could just lock in on him and Miles would do the rest. Now that Miles has graduated, Kindle doesn't have a reliable receiver to make those spectacular catches anymore. Without Miles our opponents know that they can put pressure on him and he tosses up pick-sixes. And finally, we have gone to a read-option offense...and Kindle's more of a drop-back pocket passing QB.
At this point I don't think anyone, Kindle, the other offensive players or the coaching staff should be "blamed" for our poor offense. In college football, no matter what the players and coaching staff wants to do, sometimes it just doesn't workout. Sometimes the talent just isn't what you need to win. I've accepted that "we are what we are" this year and I'm hoping for a better offense next season.
