Hey guys, both Kindle and Quick have their weaknesses. I think to have this discussion in week two is not the one to have. Once again, it is incumbent upon our OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR to design a game plan that best suits whatever QB is in the game. Let's face it, Quick is a below average QB when it comes to passing.....devise more bootlegs where he is rolling out of the pocket and can hit a receiver on an out route. I also think more of and option offense needs to be considered when he's in the game. And finally, the OC has to throw the ball deep every few series. It had gotten to the point where the defense was crowding the line and daring Quick to throw. When you throw a 40-50 yard pass, if it is a catch - great. If it's incomplete - cool. If it's an interception - it's as good as a punt. We didn't take enough shot down the field to loosen up their defense.
So next week, when we're playing Elon, it isn't about which QB is in the game.....it's all about the OC devising a game plan that features the QB's strengths. It's game one; we beat Appalachian State - BELIEVE ME, I LEFT BOONE LAST NIGHT POPLOCKIN' - but it still doesn't change the fact that our offensive coordinator has to devise better game plans to get our offense to put more points on the board. An interception return for a TD; a kickoff return for a TD - I just don't know how much longer we can rely upon unconventional ways to put points on the board.
When you're asking the defense and special teams to be "point generators" in every game - that just isn't being realistic.....

I doubt anyone in the MEAC or Elon has a def as good as Apps.
Also remember Kindles strength is to throw the ball down the field he just likes to force something that's not there at times. I have full confidence in Coach Busle to devise the correct game plan for each QB that highlights there strength and limits the ability to expose a weakness

Kindle has not lived up to the promise he showed as a freshman down at famu. I'm ready for a change. I prefer giving Quick as much experience as possible so that he can lead us for this season and the next two.

Both teams covered the long ball well. We botched a few reads on the option, but all of that was expected. We did well on the small stuff. Not too many penalties. I'm happy with we're we are. I spoke with one of the coaches last night and he spoke abouth the youth of our team. They are pleased but determined to give the kids a better product. These guys are good. Apps coach has suffered two losses to the Aggies. I like saying that.

My vote is for Quick. We won. Kindle has had his shot. He blew it and that is life. Unless Quick screws it up leave him on the field. As much as I want to beat Elon as well its still just a non-conference game. Let him start again because technically you have nothing to lose right now. If he fails then pull him and start Kindle the next game when it really counts.

Quick earned the right to start against Elon. In football you keep doing the same thing until someone stops it. It looks as though he is going to be our QB in the future so why not let him start and get experience for next season. Kindle is not going to play anymore after this year so I would start Quick and give him the majority of the snaps. However, I would use Kindle in certain situations but he would not be my starter unless Quick totally mess up.

Quick managed the game nicely but the offense only accounted for 10 points. That's not gonna cut it for most games. I say play both and go with the one who can best move the team.

I'm a defensive guy. First, let's establish the run against their defense, shorten the game and the passing game should fall into place very quickly for both QB's when they load up the box.

I'm no huge Kindle fan at all.....but c'mon guys - Quick is not anywhere close to being a complete QB. Both QBs need to be coached up. The only reason this discussion is being had is because neither has done everything it takes to put a stranglehold on the starting position. I can understand why many are turned off by Kindle - his behavior has upset me as well. However, I cannot turn a blind eye to Quick's inaccuracy as a passer. He has to do better than what he's shown thus far....

If they were even leading into the game, start Quick. If Kindle was ahead of Quick(as most would say) leading into the game, Quick did not do enough to take it away. Start Kindle.

Quick missed a lot of passes that I feel Kindle would have completed. Even with that said, Quick still played good enough for us to win and that is the goal of every game. Quick should start but I feel good knowing that we have Kindle if things don't work out.

Ditto Bigboy! All this success is causing Kindle to think about his actions, and given the chance to play now, we may well see his max potential before the seasons end.

I still think that Quick has EARNED another start.
