Sad to hear the news but not shocked. Like A1 said we have other QB's to pick from.

Yo Family, I have a different take. I can see Greensboro PD filing charges ( if they were like they were back in the day), but Campus Police? Dang! Don't they know the QB of the football Team? You know that they are in and out of the dorms, and at every event on the yard? This is not a school of 30 thousand, jeeze. If he wrecked, then that one thing, but something like this?...the Police could have parented a little, blessed him out, took his keys and told him the pick them up the next day. Jeeze call his Father/Mother while at the station. This is worth hundreds of thousand of dollars ( for the Cash Cow football).
Lastly Dean Bonner in Scott Hall AND Dean Boone during another occasion could have sent me packing. And Im not talking about being a guest in the dorm after curfew either. I know that it was not a DWI(Im not poo-pieing that), and it was during another time yrs ago, but jeeze Fellas. On the other hand, maybe that Policeman could have gotten in trouble now-a days.

I see what you are saying but at culture of drinking and driving on campus needs to be squashed immediately. His scholarship does not warranted being pulled but this needs a strong punishment.
Kindle is not and was not the only kid drinking and driving that night. He just managed to get caught.

Much respect PJ but frankly the rationale you are referencing is from my point of view is a lame excuse for a long list of repeated poor judgment and just plain bad behavior.
We might as well open the fold gates like UNC and let everything and anything pass if it involves an athlete and it will be okay as long as we keep in house.
We cannot spend too much time trying to stay away from that double standard mess because we went through that with Lee and to a lesser extent with Small.
All this kind of stuff in recent years has a cumulative toll not excluding our past APR problems.
Remember us taking transfers with pending sex offenses, public fights, gun possession with a recruit on a train, the Coastal suspension fiasco and then piss poor behavior in the stands by your starting QB in front of hundreds of fans, alumni, and even so embarrasing that his own team mates tried to pretend they didn't see or hear him ranting up and down the sideline and now a DWI by the same kid?
I'm not buying any of it. He had his second chance. They won't take scholarship so close to his graduation but you can bet his playing days are over as they should be.
No, I'm not buying excuses for repeated poor behavior anymore and neither is this current administration.

I can't believe you even said this , first all modern day campus police departments have full police powers on and around their perspective campuses . Secondly Lewis Kindle is not the savior and salvation of our football program . This is how you end up with a Aaron Hernandez type somewhere down the road . By letting small incidents like this slide , you make these guys think they are invincible until you have situation where somebody really does get hurt or killed .

I agree with Oldschool. I think the campus police did the right thing and I'm glad they took him off the street before he hurt himself or someone else. I also agree that Kindle should be treated like any other students that breaks the law on or off our campus...they should be suspended. As far as I'm concerned, this case is over. Bring in the next starting QB and let's start getting ready for App State. Case closed.

OLESCHOOL IS EXACTLY RIGHT, YOU GIVE HIM A PASS NOW AND THE NEXT TIME MAYBE HE KILLS SOMEONE DRIVING. THE KID NEED TO GET HIS PROIRITIES IN ORDER. AGGIE FOOTBALL WILL BE JUST FINE. THEY WERE MOVING AWAY FROM HIM ANYWAY,

A DWI should never be taken lightly and brushed under the rug. His judgment was obviously altered as he wasn't driving with headlights which was probably why he was stopped in the first place. If he wasn't stopped, who knows if an accident wouldn't have occurred to injure or kill someone else? I would hope that Kindle knows the consequences of DWI thoroughly but if not, I'm not sure I'd even want him as my QB.

I'm happy that UPD stopped him and not GPD due to the different skill sets and experiences between the agencies working with college students. Furthermore, athletes must be reminded that they are above the law nor the student code of conduct. I would not be surprised if there are other student judicial sanctions from this situation.

I was told today from a relative of one of the players that Dorian Belcher either has left A&T, the Aggie football program or both. Has anyone else heard this?

I have not heard anything but I have been going over to walk around the track and the players are always out there working out. I have seen all the other QB's out there every time but I have not seen Belcher out there all summer. Maybe there's some truth to the rumor.

I hope that's not true. I was expecting him to really battle for the position this year.

Kindle's my guy, let's see how all of this plays out! We all know none of the other QBs has an arm like his. I'm sure those in charge will do what's best for the team.

I'm sorta leaning towards PJ's interpretation. At the ripe old age of 18 I was pulled by campus police for running a stop sign in front of Barbee TWICE!!! I was circling around trying to catch this chic I was dating. When the campus cop pulled me over I had an open bottle of Cisco (do they still make that crap?) in my lap and he clearly saw it. I also had a bunch of people in the bed of my truck who were all drinking underage, and all bailed the second the lights came on the cruiser. So yes, there was a bunch of spilled rotgut and bottles in the truck bed too.
The officer took a look at me, shook his head, and told me to park the truck right there and walk across campus. He told me he would definitely remember the truck (s-10 with rims and a Georgia tag) and he didn't expect me to do anything that was going to cause my parents shame again, especially not paying out-of-state fees. He also didn't expect the truck to move with me behind the wheel within the following 12 hours.
Clearly, that officer is no longer with the university police department.
Had I been dealt with "properly" that night, I probably would never have graduated from Ayantee.
I ain't saying it would be right to just give the boy a slap on the wrist, but I ain't saying it would be wrong either. I have no idea if he talked his way right into an arrest or if he had the cop's daughter hiding in between his legs or what, so there could be extenuating circumstances there. But... there but for the grace of God, go I.
