I think Eaves is benefiting from the fact that he graduates his players they are all model student athletes and Eaves represents the university well. None of this was the case in football until Broadway arrived.
As sad as this sounds --------- I think haveing a winning record took a back seat based on how far off the ladder aggie sports had fallen. In the darkest days of Aggie sports over the past 6-7 years mens basketball was clean is the mindset of our admin. I commend Eaves for the things that he has done and if this were his 4th or 5th year I would to renew and tighten his contract but my fellow Aggies it year 9!!!!

unless its been modified, eaves' current contract calls for him to be extended within 1 year of his current contract's expiration. so if they're modifying his contract to reduce the money games, to me that means they're either "extending" his current contract or else they've modified or eliminated the clause in his current contract regarding the 1 year requirement to extend.
sounds to me that they've extended his current contract. otherwise, they'd have to wipe out the 1 year requirement to extend and make a bunch of other modifications in his current contract which would apply for only one year...

STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR EAVES HE HAS HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE A&T BASKETBALL RESPECTABLE BUT HAS FAIL . IT IS TIME FOR NEW BLOOD AND A MORE EXCITING BRAND OF BASKETBALL . THE AGGIE FAMILY HAS RESOURCES AND CONNECTIONS ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY WERE WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BRING IN MORE TALENTED RECRUITS. HE HAS FAIL TO TAP INTO THAT PIPELINE.

I agree 100% w/"he has failed to tap into that pipeline". He has not connected like he should have and taken advantage of the "Aggie Network" that's out here!!!!! How many times has he reached out to Alumni Chapters across the country in trying to beat the bushes for talent?

In dealing with recruiting it is best to use everything at your disposal, especially at the MEAC level. There are diamonds in the rough that may be cultivated and sometimes a coach can get an edge on getting these players by building a network. Alumni members (certainly not all alumni) who are actively involved on the high school sports level and have knowledge of talent in the areas or cities where they live can be useful tools for finding these "lessor" high school athletes. ***Note: This means passing info along to the coach about players who he may want to take a serious look at. You have to use whatever legal method available to be successful.

That is a old tactic used by many successful coaches with limited resources. You probably aren't aware of a few things. LMAO!!

It's just one of the tools that you don't hear that much about.

Its clearly the way the are coached and the in-game sets that they run.

Aggie1, I was wondering the same thing myself.....I try to keep an eye on the freshmen. There were at least three players who did not play or see any action for the Aggies.

You are correct Aggiemonster. There is some talent on that team. The issue is putting it together and making it work for you and the greater good of Aggies Nation.

Its clearly the way the are coached and the in-game sets that they run. You know I agree with you on his coaching skills. In-game sets are horrific and chaotic. Substitution patterns are disrupting and so on and so on. My main point is in addition to all of the above.......Eaves does not use all the tools (networking) that are available. Ex: Broadway has taken advantage of alumni-referenced players who played last year for us. 4 of his current players joined the team last year and contributed because of alumni giving him the scoop on these playas. One of these playas was a starter. So my point is you gotta beat the bushes wherever and whenever you can. You have to open yourself up to things that will give you an edge. This "alumni-referenced playa" idea is not sumthin new it has been going on for a long time.
