Well I've certainly passed my thoughts along to Hilton. Even though I think the program needs to go in a different direction I can live with Hilton letting him work thru the last year of his contract. About the only thing I would find unacceptable is extending his contract right now.

You have no idea how many times anyone on this board has contacted Hilton or Martin. Against or in support of Eaves. Your just assuming. People are starting to say your a little annoying and your like "no I'm not", "no I'm not", "no I'm not"......."yes you are"....."NO IM NOT" "NO IM NOT" "NO IM NOT". ""Am I bothering you?" "Am I bothering you?"........"yeah, a little"....."Well I SHOULDN"T", "Well I SHOULDNT", "You dont care", "You dont care", "You dont care". I'm not gonna say what are starting to sound like, but you cant live with em or without em. ROFL The ONLY question is: What have you done if you have had enough? That is the only thing that matters! I think I know the answer.....do you??? |

i just think at this point in the season eaves is not gonna be fired, so we need to accept that and do everything possible to support our current coach (eaves) and the young men on his team. to me, there's a time and a place for disgruntled alums to make their voices heard. but now is not that time, imho.
personally, i'm not so adamant about the firing of eaves that i will go out of my way to contribute to that cause. if i go out of my way about anything, it will be to voice my displeasure with how terribly our entire athletic department has been run over the last decade or so. to me, that's far more important than one coach.
i'm not "qualified" to tell hilton/martin who to hire or fire because i don't know all of the detailed information that i need to know in order to make an "intelligent" recommendation. yes, from the outside looking in, i'd like to see us head in a new direction. yet, i'm not in a position to recommend the firings of anybody because i don't know all of the details. sure, i could say that i'm very unhappy with the record of the men's basketball team. but that's a lot different than suggesting to the powers that be that the men's basketball coach should be fired...

I also agree with Oleschool(sky is falling  ). I stopped bashing Eaves after it was obvious the year was going to end like it always had. Our points were made already. Since everyone's point was already made there was no need to keep up with the bashing. Hilton will either fire him or he wont. But all of the damage for the year has been done, so there should be nothing left but to support the players on the team. Complain after a decision is made. And then complain again after the new coach is hired. But still politicking right now is just overkill. It wont change anything. |

I personally have no problem with those who are infactuated with medicority. I expect no less because I already have a feel for where everyone stands.
That being said, again, if you don't like what is happening and has been happening.....let those in charge know. It's not about being "'qualified' to TELL Martin/Hilton who to hire or fire". I never ever said that.....you peeeps really put your twist in things.
It's about voicing your displeasure with the direction of the program which is now in the 9th year. That does not mean you are not "supporting" the program or the team.
It's not another way I can simplify what I have been saying all along.
Good luck in continuing to twist my opinion in any angle you want to. The man needs to go and it needs to be done soon as we exit the tourney..... its that simple.
You all act like if you talk to Martin/Hilton you are being disloyal.
Wake Up.... look at how the successful programs handle their biz. Medicority is not allowed or permitted and alumni, supporters, and fans let it be known.

Dude...you are preaching to the choir. Your passion is compelling but, don't get upset if everyone doesn't go along because you say it should be done this or that way. Not only that, some people do things in their own time, not yours. Because you are fed up to the nth degree doesn't mean everyone has reached that same level. So, now your rants have begun to come across offensive to some...I believe it is not your intent to offend anyone. I recognize you are a diehard Aggie, no question...that's why I say just ease up. That's all...give folk a chance to digest what you've fed them. Cool...?

Martin and Hilton are very aware of everyone's concerns about the direction of the BB program. They get an ear full during and after every home game. I feel like some other's on this site, in that Eaves will finish out the last year of his contract. Does he deserve to play out his contract? Maybe not, but it is what it is!!!

First of all, I'm not into a popularity contest and you or nobody else on here or not on here "makes me". So the statement, "...why people are starting to ignore you".... in my view, that has no bearing on my opinions and my actions. Let me be frank with you. Martin/Hilton and I have had very productive converstions and they have no problem relating to me. So just because you have a problem....what you think does not matter! I hope you fully understand what I'm saying. As I mentioned previously....you still have not answered the question that you so "eloquently" refuse to address. IF you are disillusioned with the performance of Eaves.....have you let Martin/Hilton know your feelings? You have danced you way around this question like Michael Jackson did in "Thriller".  I assume you are a smart guy (all Aggies got sumthin going on---Aggie Pride). It's no sense in you and I going back and forth. Again, I will ask you have you spoken to Martin/Hilton IF you are not happy with what you are seeing on the court and the results thereof? If you are satisfied then the question is null and void. Lets take a break on the firing squad for Eaves. We have one regular season game left against a top conference team; then the tourney and I hope not but its very likely we only have two games left in the season. Its not like we are going to replace the Coach this late in the season.
I think after the season we will get some word from the AD as Eaves contract states that negotiation should be done on furthur contracts one year before current contract ends.
Lets not be a distraction to him or the team as its very likely our season could be over with soon and all this is fair game and the timing will be appropriate.
