IF #TeamMoveTheBand was able to get Mr. Hilton and the Marching Machine to buy the whole moving the band idea to Section S, moving the Visitors should not be an Issue. By the way, If I look at the schedule, the only visiting band(s) making the trip for sure is NCCU and Maybe BCU. I doubt if CCU's nor DSU's band will travel and I doubt if St. Paul's even has a band. This is exactly why it would be wise to pilot this thing THIS season... Although we wont know which bands will travel to greensboro until Ruff and the rest of the BDs make their courtesy calls...it's safe to say that our Weak home schedule wont provide too many visiting bands...Im gonna predict that Bethune aint coming b/c they have been locked in for NCCUs Homecoming since last year...and Del State aint traveling in my eyes no further south than HAMPTON...any other band of interest, A&T is Traveling to...

From the inside perspective, I think it will be fine. We will rehearse in the new space and make the adjustments. The bands are in the same exact sections just moved to the other side of the reserved so the "music" aspect during the game will me exactly the same. Now, students can sit on both sides of the band and we wont feel so isolated. When GD is in the stands, its nothing to the left, staff in front, and livewires or court to the right...its hard to feel connected and pumped by the crowd in the stands. (like at some of the visitors stadiums we go to) In terms of the tunnell...my take... now the whole stadium can enjoy what a few had to fight to see on a weekly basis PFUNK We love the tunnell at Hampton. ITS SO INITIMATE AND PERSONAL AND EVERYONE CAN SEE WHILE THE GAME GOES ON. Im sure Athletics is making the necessary arrangements to accomodate. We are not upset about it. This generation of band members and staff welcome doing new things and thinking of ways to help our agenda as well as the overall game day atmosphere. Either way you can believe the Delights will show out!

Good to hear. glad someone that's currently with the band sees that this move is just more exposure for the band and allows more people to see "what a few had to fight to see". sheeet, I only saw the "tunnel" live about twice at home cause you couldn't get over there. I like the band at away games more cause I could see everything better.

Wow, I just looked at this again. Is he trying to make the entire home side reserve The money is the motive. Never get it twisted.... However, moving the band has been a on going conversation for about 6 years now. Im glad some folks stepped up and made it happen. Cant wait to see the action on and off the field this year. Sidenote: The new band placement will look awesome on video.

Sidenote: The new band placement will look awesome on video. It wouldn't shock me if the whole home side becomes reserved. In fact, moving student section either to the away side or into the horseshoe may help in creating a more interesting gameday environment. However, I am excited about this move and look forward to seeing it implemented this fall.

Truthfully, we are one of the only schools OF OUR SIZE that had the reserves on the visitor side.

No clue but i wonder do we have enough demand to sell all of them Me neither. We added reserves on the home side for homecoming and they would sell out. Now I guess. the entire left side where the band used to sit will be reserves during homecoming.
