Why do you think they are where they are now And the sound from the current section interferes with the game and that's on the open end of the stadium. This statement makes no sense considering the stadium didn't become a full U until 1994. they are where they are now for easy access to the field. Not to mention we would get flag in Domes if that was the case. Yall are reaching talking about "bouncing sound "in an open air stadium. if you dont like the move just say you dont like the move. Kev dont like the move or dont think it will happen, he admits it, lol. thats fine, keep they asses where they at and let A&T stay wine and cheese. P People dont call the Dean Dome wine and cheese much anymore since Matt Daugherty suggested the student bleachers do they? Best thing he did for UNC. If some from a message board would have suggested they would have laughed him out the building. BTW, The band is not the reason A&T is bad. How about the team is and the coaches. We haven't had a winning record in 7 years and you want the band to solve the issues. We should be happy people still show up

I think some of us are missing the point and shooting past the money. Nobody is blaming the band for our team's failures. What I am saying is that a more-hype college game experience will help our team. Plus, it will be more exciting for those who like to really enjoy the games. Me, I don't like to sit on my hands and be bored to death win or lose. I go all the way back, not just Aggie Stadium but War Memorial Stadium some don't know what it REALLY was like!!!!! Why are we worried about the flags so much??? That can be corrected -RELAX ease up!! Let's try and enjoy ourselves while we can!! It's gonna be all right-Live a little and trust in the BIG BULL DOGG!! GO AGGIES!!!

^^^I get your point. I got it from the onset. It's about atmosphere. No more no less. I agree with you 100%. I hope the change comes to fruition too. I know many are resistant to change. Why? Who knows. If it doesn't work, we can always revert to the old way. It's not nearly as hard as people make it.

When we were winning the band was in the same spot as they are now and the crowd was hype. What's the problem? Win some games and the crowd will become hyped again!!

If some from a message board would have suggested they would have laughed him out the building. When Doc Hodge was band director , we got plenty flags. Go look at some film. I remember when we played JSU in 01 and SCSU in 02 @ the Georgia Dome. Coaches were screaming at the band. But we didn't care. Now Dr Ruff plays by the rules So its the rules and not where they are sitting then. Still dont see your point, but now I realize your an old band guy. I get it now. Not sure if I agree Bigboy. A&T games were never as hyped as they could have been in my opinion. When we were winning it was hype on certain plays or when the game was on the line or only on rival games. But we have always been a bit dry to me. Especially in the sections not next to the band. I'm not talking about the WSSUs, NCCUs or homecoming. I'm talking about our crowd sitting on their hands during BCC, Deleware, or FAMU. What people would call an "average" game. Those are the games we have to get a better atmosphere for in order to have a great game atmosphere. The ironic part is that our fans are the loudest AWAY bunch in the conference. Wish they would act that way at home. And I dont think anyone was blaming the band either. Take the losing away, it would still be a good move in my opinion. We are just discussing options that might improve the weekly atmosphere as a whole. I like it, but if it ever actually happens I would be shocked.

It IS and ALWAYS been about atmosphere with me. Surely, our fans will automatically become a little more involved if we are doing good and playing good football. But the ATMOSPHERE is dead and the band , along with any tangibles or intangibles, will give us a more festive ATMOSPHERE if it would be more engaged w/the crowd instead of being stuck in a corner of the stadium. These are crucial times and we need any edge we can get. I will say this, and I will probably get nailed to the Holland Bowl cross, I personally am not that impressed w/ Dr. Ruff. Granted, he put it down with the Golden Delites(they are the best in the world) but I think his approach with the rest of the band is too conservative(performance-wise). When was the last time most of our stadium really felt our bands performance at halftime and showed their vocal approval?? When was the last time we appeared on the national stage at other games and events(nationally) When Walter Carson was band director it was an epic battle each week and the only competition for us was Florida A&M. It was worth the admission just to see the band alone. However, I repeat, I repeat it is NOT about the band I am really speaking about it is about improving game atmosphere.

First of all, RIP Dr. Carlson. He was my first piano and trumpet teacher while I lived in Greensboro. However, moving that aside. I also have not been impressed by Dr. Ruff as both a musical director, fundraiser and administrator. Musically, the band has had its peaks and valleys. I look at the symphonic and wind ensembles as barometers for how the band should be. We have high schools in some areas playing tougher music then our bands. (We should split the position Director of Bands and Director of Marching Band, so that our music program could grow and encourage musicians who want to continue playing concert music but not march a chance to do so in an environment that is supportive of that.) So, come marching band season I don't have great expectations. It will take years to build the expectations set by the Marching 100, but it is possible. Seriously, where else can Elsa's be played beautifully on the field and in the concert hall? www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYaZ52mIYlQ As a fundraiser and administrator, he has had some good points and at other times he has missed the mark. What a lot of people don't know the band has a student fee component to it and they need to work to wean their selves from that funding and build a substantial network to help them with scholarships, travel and more substantial support in recruitment of students. Moving the band may help with improving the atmosphere. A team that can perform on the field will also. However, the athletics department has to get buy in from the students and alumni base to help this. In 2005, athletics worked with SGA and started the Aggie Maniacs group. While that has faltered, its time for the Livewires and other affiliated and unaffiliated groups to rise back up. Additionally, we can provide concrete suggestions and plans to athletics as to how the game experience can be improved.

this man done put famu on here playing "elsa's procession to the cathedral". if i didn't know any better, i'd think yousa rattler in disguise. that was impressive...but as for moving the band, it shouldn't be a problem...work the logistics out and move them. but don't disrupt the tunnel paleaze!!!!

I'm just a kid who loves good music and believe bands have to be more versatile. Takes me back to my hs days. But I agree, if they can work out the logistics, then they need to do it!

Our games are really boring, certainly because the team has not been doing that well but also because the energy of the band is being wasted by them sitting on the end next to open space and away from our fans. It makes no sense. Our home games were pretty boring when we were winning. Cant blame the band placement, but we were definitely wine and cheese unless the game was on the line. Moving them would definitely help. "Ditto"!!!

Its hard to get kids to come and march @ T when Shaw, NCCU, WSSU are giving full rides. Most kids in our band are their because they love it. Doing it for free.

Not exactly a true point. There are funds in the budget for quite a few partials for band members after their freshmen year.
