Next season let's move the Aggie Band closer to the center of the stadium. It will translate into at the minimum of one more victory per season. The team gets energy from our fans and band and the band needs to be in a better logistic position to keep things pumping. Let's bring errrrr advantage to OUR benefit as we take it to our victims azzzzz!!!! BORN & BRED

Can't forget about those Gold Helmet seats and the ADA sitting in the horseshoe. From my understanding, it's a logistical nightmare to move the Band to the other side of the reserve bleachers.

Please move this to the "Rockin' the crowd" forum.

Call me old school, but I like where the band is. We sat there when I was in the band, right across from the other band....plus I wouldnt want to move out those season ticket holders.

Ditto,I like where the band is. but i wish the band would be more attendant to what is going on of the field and play pep music instead of 5th Quarter music during the game.

I made the suggestion when Todd was here.
I've always liked the idea of them being on right hand side of the home reserves instead of the left. With no one between them and the reserve section. Then expand the reserves all the way to where the band sits now. It would bring people who buy reserves on a game by game basis over to the home side. Would also allow for 3-tier ticket pricing. Middle Reserve, Homeside 35-endzone reserve, and General adminission. I think we already do that for homecoming, but they would go the other way.
More people would get to hear the band and people sitting in the curve of the "U" would at least get something for those terrible seats.
Only negative would be getting on and off the field for the band.

Ok and lets not be a HBCU band while were at it... As for the Band Section. That idea was tossed around in 2007 (Dee Todd). The idea was canned because moving the band would mean moving the student section which both combined would eat up the season ticket holders spaces. You would also have to create feild access from the new sections on both sides. The band also has a tradition of marching into the stands after Halftime. It usually takes about 20 minutes. That would be impossible coming directly off the feild. It sounds good in theroy to move them, I think it would be good to have both bands in the curve of the U. but imagine the student section being the only thing between the Blue and Gold and the NCCU Scream Machine? The stadium would be rubble by the end of the 3rd.

I always hate the band in it's present location. It does nothing for stadium atmosphere. There's no crowd involvement. If I'm honest, I'm pissed that I can only see golden delight on youtube. Imagine actually seeing them march into the stadium or into the stands. The band would have a more commanding presence if they could be "seen". We shouldn't have to rely on the visiting band for entertainment. Sure, we can find several reasons NOT to move the band. Even if it's on a trial basis, I'd like to see what effect it would have on the atmosphere. I'm sure the band-heads or old-heads like the current configuration because they're in their own world (focusing on the opposition). For the average fan, I think it would be nice to see it too. Give us something to talk about as well.

which both combined would eat up the season ticket holders spaces. How so? There would be room on the side where the students and band currently sit.

In retrospect, being in discussions as a student leader about moving the band, I wished I pushed more for it to happen. The band in its present location is good for easy entrance and exit from the field, but acoustically its horrible.
A move to the horseshoe would be the best option and still could happen if enough accommodations are made to make sure the stadium is as close to ADA compliant as possible.

I have always been a proponent of "this entire building is OUR stadium." The visiting fans should not have a " side" of the stadium...their team's bench is on one sideline, and their fans can sit in a couple of sections on the side that their team is on. But they don't control an entire side of the stadium. Having said that, I would propose to move the band and the students to the other side of the stadium. Put the students one section off of mid-field. Put our band in an adjacent section to the students, and students can also sit on the other side of the band. This will open up more reserved seats to sell on the pressbox side of the stadium and also allow the season ticketholders a chance to really hear the band. Put the visiting band either where our band is now located...or to the area behind the goalpost in the horseshoe. Tickets for visiting fans can be sold in areas closer to the horseshoe...or they can sit wherever they can. Aggie Stadium is OUR stadium, and we need to utilize the entire stadium for the benefit of our team and our fans.

The bands have to stay facing each other. We are still a HBCU. Band heads and casual fans would have a hissy. Here's the graphic that was debated when Dee Todd was here. I thought was the perfect setup for Aggie Stadium and wouldn't have to be changed depending on who we played or how big the game was. Pluses: - Increases home side reserves.
- Allows for a lot more people to enjoy both bands.
- If you dont give a damn about the bands and still want to sit on the home side we still have general admission on the far end or get a reserve seat.
- More students can fit next to the band, which is where they want to be anyway.
- Students will probably overflow into sections O, P, and Q anyway.
- Sections A, B, and C are very good seats for game watching if you dont mind the visitors side and dont have a reserve ticket.
- The bands wouldn't drown out the PA system like they do now sometimes.
- One thing I hated as a student was if I didn't get to the game 2 or 3 hours early I couldn't sit in the "official" student section. This will help with that and probably increase attendance for students.
Only One NegativeOnly problem would be getting on and off the field. The band couldn't do "ThE Tunnel" anymore with this setup. But I'm sure they would come up with something. Would seem easy enough to put a set of steps in front of section T1 and they do the tunnel right on the track for everyone to see. They do that when they go away games anyway. But dont put the steps on the visitor's side so the other band has to walk around, LOL.

Aggie Monster u r a MONSTER!!!! Man, that is an EXCELLENT idea about the stadium configuration which will allow our band to be more centrally located and closer to more students and fans. It is SO important to make this change because it will bring an unbelievable atmosphere to OUR games and FOOTBALL TEAM. Let's face it most of our fans behind our bench do not have the same energy that the students have. By putting the band closer to the MAJORITY of the students you create more energy and this will translate to positive action by OUR team on the field. It will take very little funds to build ramps where the bands will have direct access to the field from their section in the stands(SEE YOUR ILLUSTRATION). The question is how can we garner support to present this idea to Earl Hilton or Andrew Perkins?? It is worth a try-- this is 2011, not 2007 w/ a new administration. Martin says he wants EXCELLENCE. It is up to all parts, including alumni & supporters, to see that it happens. I guarantee OUR stadium will be rocking BLUE DEATH-style and it will translate to 1-2 more victories at home each year. Aggie Stadium will be the feared place IT SHOULD BE!!! BORN AND BRED.

Yeah, Monster that is perfect. I suggested it to my LB who works pretty closely with the band. He's going to propose the idea to the band staff. We'll see what happens.
