I wouldn't be opposed to it at this point, since it seems we are still having troubled securing a 1-A payday.
I just cringe at thinking about the severe azzwhipping we would likely take from Central next season in our own house. That game would definitely be a major revenue generator, though. Dee might need to hurry up and put in a order for those temporary bleachers.

Sloping told me that Ms. Todd put a deal on the table for an 07 game in Aggie Stadium with no return date. He said NCCU rejected that. Maybe they are negotiating again.

That's Slope editorial commentary with a NCCU bias. NCCU didn't say no, they countered and it's my understanding that discussions have been on going. Do you really think that NCCU would just flat–out say no and walk away. Some other clown (I don't know who) might do that, but it’s unlikely Bill Hayes would.

I agree. Way too much money involved for NCCU to just say no out of hand. Most likely the hangups would be:
(1) Finding a suitable return site other than Carter-Finley in the Durham area to avoid giving away thousands of dollars in revenue to NCSU.
(2) No more third party promoters pocketing money at A&T's expense since our fan base makes up 75 percent of the attendance.
(3) Collecting the 50K that is still owed us from the last time from the shysters who lied on their finanancial reporting.
(4) NCCU not wanting to come to Greensboro for a on campus game.

Any news on whether the athletic dept. is attempting to get what they're owed from them coons, just as an aside?

I want to emphasize that we should not do any more classics with wannabe promoters. This is not the first time A&T got "stiffed" with not receiving money guaranteed, not only from the Aggie-Eagle classic but also from the Cincinatti Classic about 8 years ago. There are classics spinging up every year and HBCUs jump at them and then don't get paid after the game is over.
Hampton has instituted their policy of not talking to any promoter don't have a line of credit of one million dollars and that line of credit must be proven. I hope A&T is doing the same thing.
I think the city of Raleigh did a slight-of-hands trick on A&T by stating they are not responsible for the Aggie-Eagle Classic non-payment it is the responisbility of a non-profit organization. Raleigh endorsed the organization. There were a lot of Aggies that wanted to keep this classic because they enjoyed the tailgating but A&T was always getting 'stiffed' on the Aggie-Easgle payouts because of the promoters 'overhead' cost.
I say again to the athlete department don't deal with "Tyrone-the-corner-store-businessman turned HBCU-football-classic-promoter" unless you can get most of your money up front (expenses and profit). As A&T is finding out and had found out in the past, you can't get money from a defunct or bankrupt company.

How much money did we get from the SCSU classic game? I think that classic will continue to go on.

A while back there was a rumor that the A&T/SCSU game would return to a home and home series. Is that still in the works or have we abandoned that plan?

A while back there was a rumor that the A&T/SCSU game would return to a home and home series. Is that still in the works or have we abandoned that plan? I think this classic will continue because SC State can't draw fans at home late in the season and A&T has at least a couple of more years before they have a winning record. I don't hold all classics with skeptisms. The Battle of the Border Classic isn't a big classic but it seems that both universities know who and what they are dealing with as it concerns the promoters. The expenses are not huge like when you leave the mid-atlantic region and this is a great opportunity to make a profit that otherwise you wouldn't on the last day of the season. Again, I just caution A&T administration about dealing with people who spring up wanted to have a HBCU classic and the promoters don't have a track record or have a bad track record. I will take the home game with 4,200 fans in the stands versus going cross country and being stuck with a travel expense bill for moving hundreds of people and a ton of equipment.

The payoff on this game was $125,000 apiece guaranteed.

I dont understands Central's delima. Until they get a stadium that can hold a game between A&T and Central they need to just go with it. What's going to happen when they get in the MEAC? They going to sell out their little a$$ stadium every other year and get mad because A&T is making more money than them. They really need to improve that place, and fast.

Clarification on my post - The 100K was for the SCSU. The Aggie/Eagle still owes owes us 50K.
