I'm writing a check today and sending it to my alma mater. Did you get a call last night, too? ;D Naw I didnt get a call, but after reading the post in the private forum on the state of A&T both academically and athletically, I feel personally moved to do something. I'm just one person, but I am damn sure going to try and convince all of my Aggie friends to step up there giving. However, I have to say that I am not confident in the current leadership of the athletic department and the past university administration has apparently left our school in shambles with nothing to show for it but a host of new buildings filled with poorly trained students. Man if ever there was a time for action it is now. Now like I said, how much is membership, who does the check need to be written out to, and where do I send it.

We all love A&T but some of you would be surprise how many blacks out there who do not want to have anything to do with HBCUs. Our coaches get turned away from parents, coaches and the high school athletes who are not interested in A&T. They will tell our coaches to their faces "I don't want my child to go to a black school" or "Coach, I don't think I want to go to a black school" or "he or she is looking to go to a bigger school". There are athletes who have turned down scholarship offers from A&T and go to a predominately white school as a walkon.
I can only imagine with Warley outstanding high school career that the people around him are only thinking Division 1A football not 1AA at A&T. There may have been "feelers" sent to Warley by the A&T staff and they went unanswered or received a "No thank you" reply. You cannot believe everything you read in a newspaper when it comes to recruiting sometimes.
For a lot of you things didn't go as well as you thought for this past season. I am willing to wait and see how the Coach Fobbs and his coaching staff shake things up for the better.

A&T is in good shape. Remember the old saying " believe half of what you see and none of what you hear". Every thing you hear bad about the state of A&T should be taken with a "grain of salt".

"A&T is in good shape."
I'm still trying to let that sink in.

Do we shop for players in Florida? I found this on the MESSAGE BOARD of our friends in Tallahassee. I see some excellent defensive prospects here...TAKE A LOOK. sunshinepreps.net/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/limit,4/limitstart,8/

Might wanna come off this one.. I hear we are set at running back and they arent recruiting for that positionanymore... We have D. Chancellor (from Clemson) and a Kid named Speedy from Florida( via California Juco) who is quick as lightning. The focus from what i hear has turned to O-line and D-line..

Wasn't Speedy the name of a character on Fat Albert who tried to sell weed to the Cosby Kids? Or was that Fast Eddie?

There were about four or five HS kids from Florida (Tampa) on campus this past weekend, all linemen.

I know in basketball the assistant coaches do the recruiting and they can pretty much close the deals a lot of time. There are assistant basketball coaches who are very good at it. Bill Hayes was a great recruiter but Hayes was the head football coach. Do A&T have a good football recruiter? In football is it really the head coach that does the recruiting after the initial look by an assistant? Was Fobbs known as a good recruiter?
