All I'm saying is that these combine times of 4.4s, 4.39999999s, and linebacker 4.5s are artificial. You can teach a kid that has decent speed to run a good 40 time. There are coaches that do just that. Some of the greatest of all time 40 time sucked. You have to see the kids play against some credible competition. That's the true measure.
When did high school combines come about anyway? I guess right before they started offering unproven juniors scholarships before the season started? Anyone know?

No one has offered him or even sniffed at this kid and he's the 3rd leading rusher in the history in N.C. prep history and was the player of the year in the state a year ago.
He's intelligent and has the grades, the skills, the stamina, and the speed to be an outstanding tailback. He just didn't play at a 4-A or 3-A school but his team routinely killed 3-As every year. I can't remember the last time he ran for under 200 yards in a game. He's a natural runner to the open space and accelerates quickly into the hole.
He would be a steal the the century if we signed him.

There was a big article in the High Point paper yesterday that he's just sitting there and waiting for someone to call him to recruit him. Anyone!
Hell, Brandon Grimes, a 2005 A&T grad, is their freakin' band director!
Somebody at A&T, coaches or ADs or who ever, better call Coach Brown over in Thomasville TODAY and get this kid over for a visit!
Backs like this kid with his great speed, academics, coachability, and great attitude only come along once every ten or 12 years or so and he is litterally falling into our lap if we just go over and close the deal.

More info on Warley -
Area Briefs: Thomasville running back ranks third all-time
Staff Reports
Thomasville running back Quan Warley finished his high school career with one final big game Saturday, rushing for 216 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs' 13-7 victory over Warsaw Kenan to win the NCHSAA 1-AA state championship.
Warley, a senior, finished with staggering career statistics in three varsity seasons:
l 2,816 yards, 39 TDs as a senior.
l 3,304 yards, 43 TDs as a junior.
l 1,999 yards, 24 TDs as a sophomore.
All that adds up to 8,119 rushing yards and 106 touchdowns, both figures that rank third all-time in North Carolina.
Warley trails only Ragsdale's Toney Baker (10,241) and Albemarle's T.A. McClendon (9,004) in career rushing yards, and McClendon (178) and Kannapolis Brown's Nick Maddox (114) in touchdowns.

Warley puts on MVP performance as Thomasville wins state championship
By Brian Joura Special to the News & Record CHAPEL HILL -- Quan Warley capped his magical high school career with a game-high 216 yards rushing and a touchdown to lead the Thomasville Bulldogs to their third straight state championship with a 13-7 victory over the previously undefeated Warsaw Kenan Tigers on Saturday.
"The thing that stands out the most in every game is that (Warley) has such great vision," Thomasville coach Benjie Brown said. "In addition, he has a good mix of power and finesse. You put all those things together plus he's a quarterback out on the field for us."
Warley, the game's MVP, had 124 yards rushing in the first half, but penalties and bad snaps contributed to a scoreless tie at intermission.
"Frustrating is the best word for it," said Brown of the 51 yards of penalties in the first half. "There's a lot of nerves in a game like this. There's some judgment calls that have to be made by referees. As coaches you don't always agree with them but you have to live with them."
The Bulldogs broke the tie on a fine effort by quarterback E.J. Abrams-Ward, who faked a handoff to Warley, broke to the far sideline and ran upfield 27 yards for a touchdown.
"It was a designed play," Abrams-Ward said. "I faked to Quan, follow my blockers and the end zone was there."
Abrams-Ward, who was voted the Offensive MVP, made a big play on Thomasville's second touchdown drive, finding Justin Moore for a 26-yard completion to the 1. Moore broke two tackles on the play.
Warley ran into the end zone untouched to put the Bulldogs up, 13-0.
The Tigers posted their initial first down of the game with 8:00 to play in the final quarter. They broke into the scoring column thanks to a trick play.
Quarterback Sean Jones lateraled to Alex Monk, the team's other signal caller. Monk then heaved the ball downfield, which was corralled by Brandon Satchell for a 48-yard scoring play.
"We were grasping at straws at that point," Kenan coach Ken Avent Jr. said. "We threw it out there and it worked."
Avent added that it was the first time that the team ran the play.
On the ensuing kick, the Tigers utilized a squib kick that hit an upback and looked like an onside attempt, but Avent indicated that it was not planned that way with six minutes remaining in the game.
Kenan did end up with the ball one last time but an interception by Bud Ray seemingly clinched the victory.
But there was one final moment of suspense. With one second remaining on the clock, Thomasville elected to run a play, rather than take a knee. The ball came loose but was recovered by the Bulldog's Jaquane Mouzone to avert a disaster.
"A screwup on my part," Brown said. "I should have taken a knee. I take full credit for it."
The play was all the more surprising as a last-minute fumble by Wallace-Rose Hill helped Thomasville win the first of its three straight championships back in 2004.
But the Bulldogs survived to post their 37th consecutive victory, which is tied with Greenville Rose for the state's second-longest winning streak.
Thomasville 0 0 7 6 -- 13 Warsaw Kenan 0 0 0 7 -- 7
THO--Abrams-Ward 27 run (Wilson kick)
THO--Warley 1 run (kick failed)
WKE--Satchell 48 pass from Monk (Delcid kick)

Just out curiosity but why would any of us have to send info on a runningback with those outstanding stats of Warley and who is making all kind of noise in A&T's front yard? I am certain this football staff knows about Warley. There may be a sound reason why Warley does not have an offer from any Division 1A school. Remember Fobbs was a very good Division 1A runningback coach and so is Ragsdale. I wouldn't push the panic button, not yet.

I would think that they know about all the state championship teams running backs. That's the most obvious place to start. Thats almost a slap in the face to send them the info on this guy.

why is that a slap in the face. It wouldn't hurt to let the staff know how bad we want this guy. It might convince them to boost their efforts to get him.

Aggie One says there was an article in the High Point newspaper stating that the kid hasn't received any contacts. With stats like that, performances like that, and grades like that, I sure wish someone with knowledge about the situation would offer the damn truth. Some of yall are real close to the program and want us to give people credit for something that apparently hasn't happen. Unless you are saying that the kid is lying and he has been contacted by our staff.
So tell us, which one is it. Is our staff not interested in a kid like this? Do they beleive he wont fit in to the system? Or is the newspaper and the kid lying their asses off and he has received interest from schools (most notably A&T). Coming to this site is beginning to wear on my patience. The emperor is butt a$$ naked but some of yall are trying to suggest that he has a wardrobe full of the finest garments. I'm writing a check today and sending it to my alma mater. How much does Aggie Club membership cost again?
