they might show up, but i wouldn't say they don't care either way. every single poll and thread that i've viewed on this topic (and there are many) "heavily" favors the meac retaining the fcs playoffs autobid. now i know that doesn't represent the masses, but its a better indicator of the masses than just guessing. I look at it a different way. This is really the only fan website we have. The poll on this thread shows 12 going, 8 probably and 16 no (half of which will be at the game if it comes to fruition). So that's still 20 for and 16 against. What's more telling is that on such an "important" issue we have 36 responses. Same with the 10 page threads on MEACFANS. It's the same 10 posters going back and forth with 3 SWAC posters. At the end of the day, the die hards are far and few between. The masses will be at the game... i didn't see any category labelled "probably", so i'm not sure where you got 8 probables from. now if you're referring to the "maybe" category, that's a far cry from "probable". at best, "maybe" means nuetral but certainly not "probable". so i'd still consider the poll favorable toward the meac going to the playoffs...

State University confirmed Monday that it has joined other Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schools in discussions concerning the proposed 2011 Legacy Bowl that would match the champion from the league against the champion from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
The university also said that no formal decision about the proposed contest has been made and that any agreement reached would be a collective one from the league schools, with the final vote coming from the chancellors and presidents. A decision by the MEAC to play in the proposed game would mean that the conference would lose its automatic berth to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs.
SC State athletics director Charlene Johnson noted that SC State, like other MEAC schools, is examining ways to generate additional funds as appropriations from the state and other sources continue to decline and the Legacy Bowl would offer such an opportunity, but she also pointed out that the opportunity to play for a national title is important.
“It is important that our student-athletes have a chance to play for a national championship, however the university and other schools in our conference must explore avenues that could generate additional revenues which would help us to field viable programs and be competitive,” said Johnson. “Although the Legacy Bowl would take away the opportunity for our schools to participate in the playoffs, it would provide an avenue for us to gain significant additional funding.
“Our administration and Coach (Buddy) Pough are in discussions about the proposed game and its benefits, but ultimately we will have to abide by the final decision of the conference,” she continued.

nobody wants the legacy bowl except the majority of our presidents/chancellors and the swac. unfortunately, the majority of us who care don't have a vote! otherwise, the legacy bowl would be voted down immediately...

OK...FAMU's president, SCSU's AD and NSU's AD have at least acknowledged that there is a " situation" going on between the MEAC Office, the SWAC Office and ESPN Regional Television concerning a proposed bowl game in Atlanta beginning in 2011. Forget a GAG ORDER...when will our administration admit that at least something is going on that we (administrators, student-athletes, boosters and season ticketholders) all have a vested interest in and will be addressed soon?? Or has Dr. Martin or "Wheels" addressed some of us (Aggie Club, season ticketholders, etc.) and I am the only one in-the-dark? (Which would be OK with me!) C'mon, men!! Say something to us!!

Hey, why not skip March Madness too? We can have a basketball game with the swac champ, invite the bands, sell some chicken dinners, have a rap concert the night before and make it a "classic".
