This is the game of the century.
It would nice if the university did something to promote it.

I just found out that admission is gonna be free for this one!
No reason not to come out and support Beatdowns Unlimited.

BTW: I went and printed out a bunch of 8.5 X 11 Beatdowns vs. Goliath flyers. They are just in black and white but they look pretty good.
Let me know how I can get these to you. We need to flood the campus.

I was just looking at the schedule and I didn't notice this and nobody up here has brought it up. Why in the heck are we playing in a 2-day/2-game tournament all the way in New Mexico before the Auburn game? Keep in mind that the 29th will be a travel day (jet lag from pacific standard time). That only gives us Monday to prepare and that's a day where they will have classes as well. When will we prepare for the best team on our schedule? Who did that?

Actually, I think Marist is the best team on our schedule this year, but yeah, I would probably have liked to have more time to rest up for Auburn. It would have been great if we could have played them on a Friday night in the Dawg Pound.
But this game has been on the calendar since last year. I am sure the staff has already begun game-planning for them well in advance. Just like a football coach starts game-planning for his fall opponents during the summer.
Coaches are always breaking down game film and working on strategies. For instance, I am sure Coach K already has a few tricks up his sleeve for this year's UNC matchup. He's not going to wait until the week of the game to start his preparation.

Generally speaking, that's tournament planning. Coaches can't afford to look past regular season opponents. Especially when you're coaching a 1-2 team trying to find their identity. I mean, you're closer to that situation than me, but I just find that extremely odd.

hopefully the jet lag want be to bad since New Mexico is Mountain time (two hour difference). but you are right its a concern. How cool would it have been to put a billboard using Thrilla's poster on I 40. Put up a billboard in September you would pack the house. So what if its free I bet you would have additional 300-500 fans come back for other home games if halftime is done correctly

Don't get me started, frisco.
The way this game and entire women's basketball program has been marketed by the school has been deplorable. Especially considering the fact that we won the MEAC championship and earned our highest tournament bid ever last year.
We are now about to head into the Thanksgiving holiday and no effort has been made by this university to promote the Auburn showdown next Tuesday, accept for a quick mention by the PA announcer during the last men's game.
It's like someone had a grudge against the program and is trying their best not to give the girls any shine.

BTW: I have to take back my previous statement to ahhbigboy.
LSU is better than Marist. We play them on Dec. 16 if we get past Louisiana Lafayette the day before.
I don't know if you guys noticed but we are playing a murder's row type schedule this year.

Who did that? this is the part of the season where coaches schedule like this to challenge their teams... the gms in nov. & dec. are all part of the plan to get the kids ready for conference play & post season play... when post season tournaments begin... you are playing "x" amount of games on limited amount of rest... nov. & dec. prepares you for that...
