Truth 100% my bad I did read into your question the wrong way. At Marist all students are free otherwise you are looking at an $8-$12 ticket - again my bad - it seems like we are all on the same page as far as pulling for us mid-major programs.

It just got tougher -
Kat Lyons looks like she is back at Marist for this year - it was up in the air for a bit but here is a Transfer from Maryland who is eligable this year was part of the nations #1 recruiting class in 07-08 - along with All-American Rachel Fitz and being in Poughkeepsie - I like our chances. But also if any of you are going to make the trip let me know I will be happy to recommened some things to do as the valley is very pretty. To answer the last question posed so long ago - we have Oklahoma and Tulsa at home this year (have had Georgia and Auburn is recent but getting tougher with success)
At Maryland Shot an impressive 60 percent from three point range, with all but three shots attempted on the season coming from behind the three-point arch ... made 10-consecutive threes over six game appearances from 12/29-1/31 ...after missing her first attempt, went on to make her next two threes vs. Richmond to begin her shooting streak ... 3-for-3 from three-point range in back-to-back games vs. UMBC and at Wake Forest for a career-high nine points in each game ... knocked down only attempt vs. Clemson to keep the streak alive ... did not attempt a three pointer vs. Virginia, but made her first vs. Miami before missing on her next attempt ... ended the game vs. the Hurricanes going 2-for-4 from long range ... went 2-for-2 from the charity stripe in three games to remain perfect on the season from the charity stripe ... career-high eight rebounds in the Preseason WNIT win over Delaware ... career-high eight assists in the win over Loyola ... had steals in three-straight games vs. Loyola, Pittsburgh and Ohio State ... then had a three-game streak with a steal vs. Clemson, at Virginia and vs. Miami.
Before Maryland A four-year letterwinner at Bishop McGuinness High School, leading the Villains to a second-straight Class 1A state title and a 32-1 record as a senior ... Villains were ranked No. 11 in the nation by USA Today and earned a top-25 ranking by Full Court Press and SI.com ... a two-time Winston-Salem Journal Mary Garber Player of the Year winner ... also twice selected the Greensboro News & Record Player of the Year as a junior and senior ... state tournament Most Valuable Player in her final two seasons and was a runner-up for the state's Player of the Year honor across all classifications ... AP first team all-state four-straight years ... in 2006, was the High Point Enterprise Player of the Year ... that year, led the team to a 31-0 record and a No. 24 final ranking by USA Today ... 2005 Street & Smith's Preseason Honorable Mention All-American ... MVP of the 2006 Western Regional Tournament ... scored a school-record 1,691 points, averaging 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.3 steals per game, shooting 81 percent from the free throw line ... also lettered in volleyball for a season ... invited to the North Carolina-South Carolina and the NCHSSA All-Star Games ... committed to Maryland as a sophomore.

I see Marist is ranked #24 in the Sporting News pre-season poll. I think they have a good model for us to follow since they are now getting respect as a dominant mid-major program.

I'll tell you why Marist has been and will continue to be successful - and it is a rarity at our level - our coach isnt looking to move on. Brian Giorgis has been in PoTown (to shorten it up for the P+11 lol) for over 25+ years winning over 15 state titles at Lady Lords High School before Marist. This wasn't a stepping stone for him. Many of us mid-majors are a stepping stone you get a good coach and if they are successful they will be courted by the major conferences. Now I don't know NC A&T's coach's situation - but we are very lucky

Bornthrilla - I noticed you checked in on the Marist boards to see if we are behaving ourselves. I hate that we meet in round 1 - never like seeing the better mids knockeach other off - would rather knock out some BCS schools each then meet
