Let me start by saying yes I am a "troll" a Marist Fan. This will be a great game against 2 very good mid-majors. Your girls will enjoy their trip as they will probably br playing infront of over 3,000 fans as Marist girls are truly supported by the people of Poughkeepsie.
From reading your posts it should be a very competitive game as both teams can go very deep into their bench. It is almost ashame we have to play each other in round one - be nice if the better mid-majors had a chance to knock out some of the bigger conference teams before taking each other out.
Either way this will help both teams RPI regardless - something that has been difficult for us as no one wants to play us. Anyway good luck to your girls this year - well with the exception of one game.

Marist's average attendance of 2,466 fans per game is the 57th highest average in the country and, far and away, the highest in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Marist packed the McCann Center to capacity for "Pack The House" night as 3,200 fans filled the McCann Center for the Red Foxes' February 6th game against Canisius. The Red Foxes' closed the season with its second and third-highest attended games of the season. 2,980 people came out for Marist's February 22nd tilt with Siena, while 2,828 fans saw the regular-season finale against Rider on Feb. 28.
Marist's average attendance per game was only 19 people less per game than California of the Pac-10. The Red Foxes ranked higher than major conference programs such as Oregon, Indiana, Illinois, Marquette, Utah, West Virginia, and Boston College.
Not a big arena but loud and there isnt much else to do in Poughkeepsie.

What 57th in the country isnt good enough? Yes been to the tourney 6 of last 7 years - Sweet Sixteen in 2007, 2nd round in 2008 and top 25 rankings. Got wins against Ohio St, Utah, Nabraska, and DePaul in that time. Our place only holds 3200 not big small school. You do know NC A&T only averages 1038 per game so this would be more then twice what your girls are used to.

I'm not here to getting in a pissing contest - I will root for all good Mid-Major teams including NC A&T against the BCS schools. I like Hartford, Mid Tenn, Bowling Green, Liberty, etc teams that have some quality programs and can beat most of the "bigger schools". In womens basketball I think the top 10 are so far ahead of the rest of the nation - but after that a good mid major has a real chance to beat a ranked oppenent. Like I said I hope you win 25+ games this year because win or lose playing you guys will help our RPI. We also have Oklahoma and Tulsa playing at Marist this year - that says alot to get a Oklahoma to come to Poughkeepsie.

Perhaps nomar33 misinterpreted your question? I didn't see a reason for the "pissing contest" remark?
