Maybe one of those second semester only eligibilty deals you see in basketball so many times. No one has quit or left that I know of.

if porter can redshirt as a "senior", it wouldn't surprise me if moorman and shepard does it this year. i don't think either of them will be significantly missed based on last year's performances...

This could be a smart move by Eaves. I guess the real evaluation will be how Porter does this year.
Hears my take on his thought process: Bring in a freshman let him play his first year and fight for time in the rotation. If he proves that it was the right decision to let him play as a true freshman you continue (i.e. Marc Hill). If they should have probably been redshirted as a freshman (Brock Morman) you take the redshirt going into their sophmore year. At least you know the specific things the players needs to improve upon and you take the year to accomplish that.
With the addition of a new post player (Upchurch) and a new swing player (Witter); Shepard and Morman became the most likley canidates.
From what I saw last year Nick Simpson & Williams could fit into the same catogory; however, that would have left us only three active guards on the roster.
Could be way off base just my opinion. Any other thoughts ?

For the kind of player A&T gets, this is a perfect process. Yeah, if Porter shows significant improvement Eaves may be onto something.
