This was a good pick up for us. That makes 2 of Eaves recruits I like So you like Upchurch, who's the other recruit you mention?

Hey Monster (or anyone else that's seen this kid),
How will Upchurch perform spending a lot of time away from the basket? Our bigs handle the ball a lot free throw line extended etc. Is he a true post or more like a Jason Wills type of a player?
And I think you've answered this before but, was this kid on the the AAU/showcase scene? If so, what team. There's no way I could've missed him.

He reminds me a lot of L.J.Pipkin from the late 70"s. Same build, same approximate size as Pipkin was as a freshman.
Has outside range but can go inside off the dribble, solid rebounder and creates his own shot. He's not real thick and will need to gain some weight but he'll be a impact guy right away offensively in this league and gives us an immediate replacement for Ed Jones at the 3-4 spot.

MORE BREAKING NEWS!!
Eaves will also be getting Garner High School's other top basketball player in first team All-Conference point guard Carl Redd Jr. (6-1) who played beside Upchurch this past year.
He is coming to A&T on a full academic teaching fellowship!
He averaged 12 pts, six assists, three steals, and five boards per game. He also was a starting linebacker on the football team and a co-captain.

The thing I like most about this year's recruits (for the most part) is that they have googleability. That is, the ability to find something out about them on google. lol Traditionally, you would be hard pressed to get any kind of reviews for most of the people that come here. Look at last year's recruits for example. So that shows some kind of promise for me. As always though, we'll have to see how this pans out. I'm sure the returning players are improving leaps and bounds as we speak. You like something about what eaves is doing. Interesting

We need some starting linebacker type toughness. This probably closes the door on CJ Penny.

I've been saying for years that he can win and not recruit outside of NC. I mean, Jesus, EAVES IS RECRUITING NC!!! lol Plus, this is the first year where you can actually get some info on kids coming in. That's not too much to ask for. I mean, I don't know how these kids will turn out (no one ever does), but this is the first year that I can look at some info or be like "OK, maybe this kid will do something." I'm rational. I keep telling you all I don't hate the man. I just comment on the results. And for the MEAC, there's nothing really bad to say about this year's signings. Period.

I'll wait to see these kids play in August before I get "excited". On paper though, it does seem like somebody on the staff got some fire under their @ss. I just like that NC is in the picture when it comes to recruiting now.
