Briefs | Niners set record in blowout Posted: Wednesday, Apr. 08, 2009 Link.... N.C. A&T walked 12 batters and committed nine errors in the field, while the Charlotte 49ers stole seven bases en route to a 31-0 home baseball victory Tuesday. It was the largest margin of victory ever for a Charlotte team, and was one run shy of the school record for runs in a game. The 49ers improve to 17-12 on the season, dropping the Aggies to 7-21. Sophomore designated hitter and relief pitcher Ryan Rivers hit his team-leading ninth home run of the season and drove in a career-high seven RBI in the contest, just one shy of the school record. The 31 runs was also one below the school record of 32, scored against Appalachian State on March 9, 1995.

Holdup, the boxscore that I saw said we scored one run in the ninth inning. Don't be trying to cheat us!

I can kinda understand why you wouldn't want to necessarily shout that score from a mountain top, but if it wasn't for Brandmasta and pitbull I wouldn't have even known that we played UNCC yesterday.
Actually, I now that I think about, I wish I didn't know that we played UNCC yesterday.

geeeze! looks like a down year for our baseball program. pretty soon we're gonna be known only for our women athletics. hail, our softball team is kickin' azz! they've won 8 games in a row. and of course, our women's basketball team kicked azz this year and won the meac championship. even our women's track team isn't bad. other than volleyball, our women's teams perform quite well. is that because most schools don't spend as much on women's athletics? hence, a&t can compete?

is that because most schools don't spend as much on women's athletics? hence, a&t can compete?....has a&T increased spending on women's sports compared to the other schools that once beat them?

our baseball team is young... no one expects to much from them this yr... i think the coaches are projecting positive things to come 2-3yrs down the road...
such is the life when you basically recruit 1 state... & such is the life ... when you can't reload like that school in daytona beach... BCC...

I played on baseball teams at "T" in the mid to late 80's with less than 1/2 to 1/3 the talent this team has and we never got beat this bad by anyone and we did not have a full slate of MEAC games.

Two of our starting pitchers are freshmen. They are going to get knocked around.

is that because most schools don't spend as much on women's athletics? hence, a&t can compete?....has a&T increased spending on women's sports compared to the other schools that once beat them? the point i was trying to make is that its easier for us to compete in the women's sports because most schools don't spend heavily on their women's programs. i think our softball team does so well because we have a good coach and we have a very nice facility. i can tell you in one word why our women's basketball program succeeds. "bibbs"! enuf said. both our men's and women's track teams are decent but they would rule the meac if the track program was better funded. we probably have the best track facility in the meac and i'm sure it has attracted recruits to a&t. but we could attract a lot more if our recruiting and scholarship funds were adequate. as a former aggie trackster, i'm pretty certain the track budget probably amounts to peanuts. i know for a fact it did when i was there...

So you're saying the womens basketball budget is larger than the mens?
