I Just wish the first of the two A&T-SU b-ball games would NOT be scheduled the weekend of Honda every year... I mean seriously, the basketball game will loose out, especially if one, or both schools were to be invited to the event...but i guess things would have to be done their way before its done the right way...

you have got to get wssu cheerleaders in corbett... they are not afraid to get out on center court & do their thing... alot of us on the board suggested both squads square off against each other in between timeouts... not to see who had the best cheers so to speak.. but who had the best dance routines... i like our cheerleaders alot... but its hard to get them off that baseline & out to half court... heck... the people who sit behind them up top can't even see them on the baseline... & there are other spots in corbett where its hard to see them on the baseline... wssu cheerleaders are used to being center stage at games & their sense of timing for what they can get accomplished during media timeouts is outstanding.... i never thought i'd be agreeing with getuprams... but the main thing missing in corbett were the ladies of wssu... period...!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think this would be a great idea...Norfolk & Hampton always have both cheer squads present, why can't WSSU and A&T? I don't beleive what I'm reading. We should not require the help of our rival to get our fans pumped up. Does Carolina need the Duke cheerleaders in attendance to get theit crowd pumped?

They have before, a couple of years ago when I went to a game. Carolina was ranked #1 and Duke was #2. something like that. but we dont need wssu to pump our fans up. it would just add more excitement and steam to the atmosphere. that excitement and steam was definately needed this past saturday. there were too many people in corbett for the crowd to be that dead . having representation from both schools would make corbett alot more hype, that's what makes ciaa game so much more exciting then meac

Okay so we had a bad supporting cast at the WSSU game, but the MEAC is in a couple of weeks and it's just in Winston. A&T needs to show up deep, like we're going to win. That is why the Alumni Cheerleaders go to the MEAC every year, they have started a winning tradition. I'm a recent graduate and a third generation aggie also, what I see now at the games just dosen't compare to the stories I've heard from the 80's and early 90's. There is a different view on A&T basketball and A&T athletics for that matter, A&T has not shown the students who are there now a winning mentality besides girls basketball..and boys basketball just cranked it up this year.. Most home games are shown live in real time on www.tenwebtv.com

I agree with westcoastaggie... The average A&T student does not care about athletics... It seems like this new breed has lost touch with what it means to be an Aggie fan...to them "Aggie Pride" is just a saying and not a way of life

Apathy is alive and well on the campus. Many students don't even know when games are played. It is not necessarily the happening place to be. If you will note, sometimes students start to leave in the second half with 15 minutes to play. Go figure. Apathy..... You should not need a rival cheer squad to get your fans going. That says alot about your fans. You never see a visiting team in major college games with their cheerleaders. The home team does not want them on their court jacking up whatever fans are there. The only time you will see a pep band and cheerleaders is during tournaments. A&T students and fans need to stop being apathetic and be more supportive of all the activities on campus. From the 90s back, basketball games at Moore and Corbett were packed. Fans were into the games. Loud!! And there was a time when cheerleaders from MEAC schools did travel with their teams. That ended years ago. The visiting cheerleaders occupied the area where A&T's squad now cheers from. The A&T cheerleaders were located in front of the pep band. They also would do many of their cheers at half court. Hey, during that period, Corbett was known to "rock and roll'. At that time the pep band played music (upbeat cheering type music)that made you want to move. Somehow the mindset has to change. To change the present mindset will require the efforts of student leaders, marketing, and the Athletics Dept.. But mainly, it falls on the shoulders of the students. They have to want to be a part of the University and support programs and activities. That's what AGGIE PRIDE and education is all about. Expanding ones horizons or life experiences.

Thanks for the love truthseeker, you have always been the most sensible person on this forum, why are you not on meacfans?(We could use more Aggies like you, rather than the likes of Decks, Dooms, and especially that big loser OleschoolAggie) LMRAO!! What you say about the WSSU Cheerleaders is 100% correct, we know how to get it KRUNK and keep it popping for a full 40mins.....Oh and we are def. trend setters...notice how the Aggie Cheerleaders were leading the Aggie basketball team around the court this season LOL, yeah thanks for the pick up ;-) .....The song is called..."Get UP"....We def. we're coming to Corbett last year, but the A&T coach frankly stated "There was not enough room for us", so most of the squad just bought there tickets and went to Honda. They also rejected to cheer at the Annex last year, where there was plenty of room! Say what you want, but SU Cheer Phi is NOT afraid to cheer in the Dawg Pound or anyone else, lets remember how we marched around your football stadium ON PURPOSE, being showered with football and STILL kept it moving with A.T.T.I.T.U.D.E, most squads would have booked the short way back with the quickness LOL....Cheer-PHI...EEEE YEOP!!!!

well i can't really speak for the rest of the crowd in Corbett but I sit with the Maniacs every game and Buddy (If yall don't know he's the one with the hub cap) he's single handily almost killing the Aggie Maniacs. The people in charge let him get a little too comfortable in thinking that he has a position with the Maniacs...thats just speaking for the Maniacs but idk about the rest of the crowd

I actually met dude after a game back in December and he seemed like a pretty cool kid.
I don't see how one guy can make an entire student section lose its energy. He is one of the few Maniacs that brings a prop to the game.

He is one of the few Maniacs that brings a prop to the game. Don't get me wrong he is a cool dude but sometimes when people are so focused on the game he tries to take our attention away from it by doing cheers. idk why some of us can't do both at the same time but when some of us don't do cheers he threatens to take his shirt off and lets be real no one wants to see that
