aggie77 and aahhbigboy, nobody's saying you can't post. but if you're gonna profoundly and consistently state that someone can't coach, the least you could have is the credentials to make such a statement. no one should "profoundly" state that a person can't coach if they have no formal knowledge of coaching themselves! how can anyone with no background in coaching say a "professional" coach who produced record breaking results that no one in the big east or the entire country has ever done can't coach? that's simply ignorance!
don't misconstrue one's right to post their opinion with the right to make ignorant statements. i mean, if you're gonna be "profoundly" critical of somebody you ought to at least have the credentials to know what the hail you're talkin' bout!
i've coached basketball on a national level and high school level, but i've never coached at the college or pro level. so what credentials do i have to profoundly state that eaves can't coach? i could see if a person has an "advanced" knowledge of basketball like all nba coaches do. eaves has been a player and a coach at the highest level of basketball in the world! what credibility does someone that has never coached a day in their lives have to state that a "professional" coach doesn't know how to coach? that's pathetic and quite frankly, extremely immature!
so if you can criticize a professional when you have less than amateur knowledge, then all you're doing is demonstrating your ignorance...
Chris Berman never coached or played, is he ignorant when he criticizes on Sunday?
Most athletic directors haven't coached 99% of the sports they oversee. Do they have amatuer knowledge?
I can't be president but I can tell you that Bush can't lead. Am I ignorant?
Exactly.
we're not talking about berman or athletic directors, you're neither of them. we're talking about you. and no, you can't "intelligently" state that bush can't lead. you can state that he did a poor job, but that doesn't mean he's incapable of leading, it just means he did a poor job.
man, you "profoundly" stating that eaves can't coach is like me profoundly stating that condoleezza rice knows nothing about foreign affairs! i don't have the credentials to profoundly make a statement like that.
if you've never been exposed to the amount of basketball knowledge coaches at the d1 and pro level have, you'll be blown away once you find out. its not as simple as you think it is. coaching at the d1 level is extremely detailed. its not a matter of just stepping and sliding, or shooting free throws.
d1 coaches consume basketball on a "fulltime" basis while folks like you and i are working in the office doing other things. any coach that has coached and played at the nba level is "loaded" with knowledge of basketball. now that's just simply a fact and not an opinion!
so i can see someone of lesser stature disagreeing with eaves' philosophy, tactics, or personnel decisions. hail, even i do that. but to consistently and profoundly state that the man can't coach is flat out untrue! the man can coach. he may not be the best coach, but he can coach nonetheless.
man, its funny how you criticize his team for not scoring but 2 points within an 8 minute span. yet, you won't give him credit when his team does something extremely rare (if ever) by an hbcu by upsetting depaul on their home floor and breaks scoring records to boot! few, if any hbcu coaches has ever done that in all of history. man, you can't have it both ways! that alone shows that you have no objectivity and you're just shooting off at the mouth...
