That was a helluva performance last night. The Machine pulled on all the stops and seemed to be pretty crisp for the first game of the season. I really liked the originality of the formations, the various drum line solos, and the industrial strength weaves of the Golden Delight. They must have used Hawaiian silky No. 5 and some extra strong glue because that weave stayed in there all night despite a bunch of jumping, head shaking and rolling around on the ground
I wonder if Battle gave Ruff the same talk he gave Fobbs: produce now or else.

I've just learned that the Golden Delights were attempting to pay a tribute to Chaka Chan on Saturday, hence the big weaves. They stayed up all Friday night with sewing kits and super glue, getting ready for the big performance.

Dr. Ruff proved a lot of critics (like myself) wrong this season.
This right here could possibly be the best A&T marching band ever.
This is definitely the greatest Golden Delight squad of all time.

Best Golden Delight ever? Quite possibly. Best B&G Marching Machine ever? I dont know....it would be tough to take the crown away from the '91 edition when they took ninety-six horns down to Texas and blew the mess out of several SWAC bands, or that perfectly balanced heart-stopping machine we had in '94 that completely out-classed SU in the Circle City Classic. Dey good though That performance in Norfolk was something special.

It seemed like the 99 machine played that damn J-Lo song every week. Plus the Golden Delights back then were terribly out of shape. Folks on meacfans used to clown us all day long about those big girls.
The 03 squad was nowhere close as entertaining as this year's machine has been from week to week. They didn't have a lot of variety in their shows that season.
You can cross those two off ....

'03 was the band that went to Vegas and unleashed that fury on Southern. They were on fire that year.
