They are two quality guys from quality programs and I think we are fortunate to land them. They will provide some instant help at positions were we are losing players to graduation. Coach is very high on both of them and we beat out some other programs not listed in their press clippings including some prominent teams in our conference for them.

I totally agree 4XL. Looks like we're building up for a long run over the next few years both in men's and women's basketball.

i see alot of you don't attend dudley's games... i see eaves there quite a bit talking to kids... even the ones he knows he doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell at getting because they are going major college all the way...
as far as chavis goes as well as hunter's kid at northeast... eaves didn't have many scholarships to give... inside help was his primary need... both of these players were recruited as walkons... the same case as chaplin... except chaplin really wanted to come here so he did...
also keep in mind that no other d-1 school in the area or state was looking to give these kids a scholarship also... or they wouldn't have gone south of the border...

besides bball has only gotten better & better... now if dee get's these guys some serious recruiting dollars like she has for fobbs... so bball can expand their talent pool & recruit all over the place... we will take off!!!
when you limit your coaches to just in-state recruiting especially in nc.. you are decreasing your selection pool... because....
1) the big schools are going to get the best kids...
2) you're in acc country... kids are mesmerized by that... & why shouldn't they be... the entire state practically shuts down during the acc tournament...!!! you think that doesn't have an impact on these kids!!!
3) grades are going to kill you... so there goes another big % of players you can't even get through the clearing-house...
4) local kids want to get away from home... hell odu has a better chance at getting a kid from this area than we do.... if you don't believe me... just ask bibbs... her blue-chip players are not from nc... & there were 2 blue-chip ladies in this area... one at dudley & the other at carver... one went to odu... the other went to nc state... if bibbs could have landed both of them to this yrs class you would be talking national title... both were 6-3... athletic... run like a deer... & can score...
simply put... give the coach some credit... we are now meac contenders.... increase the bball budget & watch things take off... if dee can't find the money... it's already there... let bball keep ALL THEIR guaranteed money until you can support the program without them having to play guaranteed games...

Agree with A-77. Why are we assuming Eaves didn't recruit this kid? Sometimes the ones in your backyard are the hardest ones to sign because they want to leave the area.
