Could not help but notice that the MBB team is playing two exhibition games this season,Presbyterian and Winton-Salem. I think this will help this team to jell sooner and work out any kinks prior to the start of the season.Would have liked the ladies to have done the same.

I agree there should be exhibition/cupcake games to jell the squad. But sometime those cupcake games can end up being a pound cake game, especially if they win or play you to close..i.e.( WSSU in Football). That can be detrimental on the psyche of your team especially when you were rebuilding.

I, actually, don't remember us ever showing "exhibition" games on our schedules (mem or women). So I don't know if the women play any. I know the men played Presbyterian last year and that was where Felton got hurt.

My wish list from Off-Season work is that Clark gets utilized as a decoy on the block. And that Her vision and passing game gets Savey Like Lamona Smalley or the Golden Child. Nothing telegraphed or slow. I also like something with Her at the elbo. ( I know that She added a 3-ball last year.)
I would have Her back-up (who ever it is) work on a Elbow Jumper and have it like "money".
Also on a Man to Man defense against us, I would like some sets with Dorsey down low.

In brief - He was extremely positive and upbeat. Expectations are high. He remarked that we are far bigger, extremely athletic, and way deeper than we've ever been. A lot more options offensively out on the perimeter and down inside. We'll play a lot more pressure defensively because of our increased depth. It's a case of mixing in all the new talent with a team that had almost everyone back from last year's squad.

One change I've noticed with his teams, in moving from the MEAC to the CAA, we are bigger, but slower. We're getting the 6-plus footers, but they aren't the top-of-the-line athletes. In the MEAC, we commonly had the 5'9 - 6'0 players who could move those feet. For better or worse, it's been sort of a trade-off. To be the creme-de-la-creme of programs, we need to start getting the best of both worlds (ie. 6+ footers who can move).

The one thing he pointed out about this year's team is we added in some "roadrunners' to our backcourt with lot more experienced point guard depth behind Dorsey. She won't have to be playing 30 plus minutes anymore.

He started recruiting bigger players after the NC State loss… We weren’t tall enough to compete after our one 6’3 player fouled out, the next tallest player was 6’. NC State had 5 players between 6’5 and 6’1
