Well Westcoast what was the records of our 2 major sports? I am curious as to who is in your top 3 A&T women's basketball coach of all times. I agree with you that Coach Rob can improve in the two areas you identified and making sure the women are locked in after the halftime break. Several times they came out flat losing leads having to pull out a win late in the 4th quarter. Even with this said, I still believe Coach Rob is a good coach for A&T.

It has to be Coach Bibbs and Robinson. Other than those 2 all I can remember is Coach Joyce Spruill. Forgot the brother's name that coached after Joyce.
However, Coach Bibbs was the best to me.

I knew Coach Rob had the highest win total but I didn't realize he also has the highest winning percentage (.624 ) surpassing Bibbs (.615).

Since Jrob pulled the stats, does this change your opinion on Coach Rob? I never saw the other coaches coach, but statistically Coach Rob and Bibbs are equal in performance. If you multiply Coach Bibbs numbers by 2.17 (13yrs / 6yrs) and she kept winning at the same rate her wins-losses are 249-156. She would have won 6 regular season championship versus 4 by Rob. She would have won less conference tournament championships and NCAA appearances at 2 versus Rob's 3. Again, this is only stats but man are they close. If he was to improve on everything you pointed out he would be much better than Coach Bibbs on paper. So, if you feel Coach Bibbs is a good coach (I don't know if you do) then should not Coach Rob get the same credit? Just comparing numbers. I am sure Coach Bibbs had things she could have done better in recruiting to win more games as do all coaches. As I stated in a previous post, calling a coach good or great depends on who you are comparing his/her coaching career against (MEAC, HBCU, small D1 schools, all D1 schools, etc.). You still can have a favorite coach even if they both are good coaches.

Coach Abney will be inducted into the HOF this year. I may be mistaken but while Bibbs is in the SWAC HOF, she is not in the MEAC or NCAT HOF.

Can an argument be made that Coach Rob is A&T's most successful coach in all sports?

The bowling coach probably has a higher winning percentage, but Coach Rob has a longer body of work.

Simply, I look for consistency and Coach Rob has it.....every coach has a weakness and you made your about our guard play...I get it. It does not take away from Coach Rob's accomplishments as a HC... Plus I was around when A&T men's BB in the late 70s and 80s would make the NCAA tournaments and couldn't win a game, even with the amazing talent we had durng that period. Those failures to win in the NCAA tournament did not diminish my and your opinion of Coach Corbett, Coach Reynolds, or Coach Littles as great coaches...IJS! Coach Rob is very adaptable and moving to three diefferent conference in three years but continue to win is noteworthy!

Coach Robinson ain't no scrub. He worked under Coach Bibbs and learned a lot. However, his teams don't have the shooters, tough, agile Bigg in the middle. Her teams never gave up.
Not talking about stats because she did not coach here as long as Robinson.
Her teams were fun too watch because they were exciting and tough.

It sounds like she was a good coach which I would have loved to watch her teams play and her work her magic.
