Joyner next school will be #4 The number of schools is not important any longer in the age of transfer portal. Kids will go anywhere to continue to play the game they loved since a youngster before they have to face working in the real world. The significance of school history or brand matters less to these players. I guess you can describe these type of players as loaners, hired contractors, etc. The new business of recruiting for coaches to deal with along with NIL.

If our coaches don't worry about it, I don't either. He had to know the risk at the time he made the offer. Now the 1st or 2nd school may have came as a surprise.

I agree in part on what you and Saabman say on cleaning move. Both of these players were probably already thinking about transferring. After their end of season individual player's meeting with the coach discussing future goals and development, they had a clearer picture on their future plans. Smith was probably told his playing time would not be great next season unless a big jump in skill development, therefore a mutual agreement to part ways. Joyner on the other hand was told how much value he brought to the team and that he "can potentially" earn more playing time. He already was averaging 19 min/gm. A starter position was probably not promised, therefore he decided to look for a better opportunity although Coach Ross wanted to keep him. All speculation on my part, but Coach Ross had trouble bringing in Bigs last year although he made plenty of offers to Bigs. It makes little sense to get rid of a productive Big (height wise) you developed in an area you lack depth and appears to be hard to recruit at A&T. Ross may have left the decision up to Joyner with no guarantees that he will be in the starting line-up for next season. With the injured big man returning I could see Joyner being successful on the wing . He still has time to reconsider but if not. I wish him luck. yeah, i really came to like joyner's game but not as a full time "starter". i like him coming off the bench as a 6th or 7th man. i absolutely luv his "energy" and he's an excellent defender. disappointed that he's leaving, his energy and defense won me over...

Unlike our football team, both our basketball teams beat outside expectations thus the lower number of transfers. I might add that this was year 2 in the CAA for basketball versus first year for football. I expect football to be quite a bit different. guess so, can't be any worse than last season...

If we go winless this next season, I will personally wear a grocery bag with two eye holes cut in it on my head! Lawd, if we lose to the II Goats, I will have to get off Facebook.

No. You've got to be kidding. We STILL won the game and that means we had a win as opposed to NOT having a win. #DoBetter #Smh

247sports.com/college/wm/article/kam-woods-nc-state-transfer-portal-2024-north-carolina-at-230234925/NC State guard Kam Woods enters transfer portal The former NC State and NC A&T guard will be looking for a new home this offseason. RALEIGH, N.C. -- After one season with NC State, guard Kam Woods has entered the transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. Woods transferred into NC State after spending last season with North Carolina A&T as the final member of the transfer portal class. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard averaged just 1.2 points and 0.8 rebounds this past season while shooting 29.4 percent from the field. Woods played in just 13 games overall, but none better than his season debut with nine points and four rebounds against then-No. 12 Tennessee back in December 2023. In his third school in as many seasons, Woods transferred to in-state Colonial conference affiliate NC A&T last season where he averaged 17.3 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for the Aggies. He opted to transfer out of the program once his previous head coach was fired and filed for a waiver to become immediately eligible -- which was granted midway through the season.

Hell to the No !!! Why bring him back when he could have stayed in the first place. That a bad look for the program because Woods was not forced out like a few others .
